Came out this morning and noticed this coloured spot under the LS (2004 V8; driver side). Either a dog pee'd under the car or it's sprung a coolant leak. Left the car at home until I can check under the hood to see where fluid levels are.
For Sale: Valve cover parts for 2004 LS V8 (gaskets, grommets, seals)
Purchased these to fix a leak on the valve cover (right side) but did not get around to doing the work and likely won't before the car is retired :(
$75 shipped for the set
GROMMET - VALVE COVER (x2):

Bought these a couple years ago but never got around to installing them on my 2004 LS V8 and probably won't now so hopefully someone else can benefit from upgraded brakes on their LS. I checked on Amazon and the front and rear set would run about $195 so I'll list these at $110 shipped for both...
I will have to replace the car soon unfortunately due to the under-frame being rusted and parts getting "soft" (like hoist points) so not looking to spend a ton on repairs now. The A/C stopped working a while back and I had it pressure tested and recharged with dye a couple weeks ago and the A/C...
After repairing a broken wheel stud and coolant pipes I thought I was ok for a while but a problem occurred with the rear passenger window yesterday (2004 LS8).
The window will not go up all the way and stops about 1/4 to 1/2 inch from the top, leaving a small gap.
I can lower and raise it...
Anyone in or close to Toronto have access to wheel studs for a 2004 Lincoln LS V8? A wheel stud on a rear hub snapped and the dealer only orders/sell a bag of 5 for CA$75 bag. Would prefer to just get one (new or used).
Thanks!
After a nice stretch of no issues after I pulled the computer and sent it off for repairs, it appears the LS (2004 V8) has sprung a brake fluid leak. While shovelling the driveway on Wednesday I noticed a sizable wet spot under the car that looked like it had oil in it (I do have a slow oil drip...
Looks like something in the A/C system decided to give up in the last couple days - wife just told me about it this morning on the hottest day of the year so far. Took it out for a drive it and it's just blowing hot air.
In looking at past threads it appears it could be the DCCV (part # YG378)...
I recently noticed a fair amount of pooled water in the trunk of my 2004 LS down below the spare tire so pulled the tire out and dried everything up- then traced one of the rear drain hoses (passenger side close to gas tank door) that had come loose. Reattached it to the drain spout in the rear...
I seem to have developed a few issues with the front end on the LS (2004 V8 Sport) and not sure to what extent they are related. Looking to see if anyone else has experienced/addressed these previously (from the search, past threads are all over the map in terms of symptoms/outcomes).

Trying to remove the glove box on my '04 LS and having difficulty seeing what's holding the door in place so I could lower it to get at the 3 bottom screws for removal. I removed the side panel by the door and could see the stop arms and "released" them (from a guide I think as I couldn't see)...
Want to buy: Grey Console armrest lid or latch - smaller of the 2 latches (see pic).
The small latch is broken and missing from the lid:
Here is the broken smaller latch - will take an intact one if available:
Went to move the LS this afternoon and found a decent sized oil leak on the driveway. Haven't checked the oil level itself but it looked pretty clear/clean for oil that is at least a month old in the car. Crawled under the car but couldn't tell where it's coming from but appears to be from the...
Firstly, Happy 4th of July (weekend)!
2004 LS V8 - "Service Parking Brake" message in display, brake lever/switch with yellow light on, and parking brake stuck in "on" position so cannot really move car without dragging brakes. I just finished changing the pads and compressing the caliper...
I was doing my brakes (2004 LS V8 Sport) on the weekend and noticed this bushing was really torn up (middle of screen right behind the rotor backing plate on the passenger rear side).
What part is that? Part number? Is it the toe link? Stabilizer bar link? Lateral arm? Is the bushing separate...
Was heading out to a movie yesterday in bad weather (it was snowing and roads were slippery) and the LS (2004 V8 with 138K miles) had an odd hesitation/bucking while cruising along on the highway. It occurred every few minutes/couple miles between 35-45 mph and felt almost like it was quickly...
The OEM brake pads on the LS (Gen II V8) are currently at 5mm and were all installed at the same time with new OEM rotors a couple years ago IIRC - was told they are "good" still but with winter coming up soon is it advisable to change now or later (ie. in the spring)? We do about 25,000 km...
OK, when I first got the LS it had the worn OE Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 (Size: P235/50R17, Serv. Desc: 95V, UTQG: 300 AA).
I switched them out after a year to Yokohama YK520 tires (all season) which were decent but wore quickly and got really noisy as they aged.
Now that those are worn out...
Took the car in for service recently (dealership oil change/maintenance package where they also rotate tires and check several things around the car, brakes, suspension, fluids, etc) and they said I have a broken rear passenger spring.
Price quoted seems pretty expensive for just one and I...
