Hi,
I've got a weird problem:
After the engine had been repaired for a severe engine oil leak (engine had been taken out for repair at the Cadillac dealership).
The p0300 error started to come up.
It has been back for diagnosys for this problem a number of times.
At the Cadillac...
Hi,
I am looking to buy a 2005 or younger Cadillac STS.
Does anybody have information about engine problems with the V6 version and the V8 version?
Is there anyhting specific I should watch out for???
How long do the V6 and V8 engines last?????
Any information is appreciated...
Well, I finally ended up with paying over $500 to get it fixed.
One of the wheel speed sensors had gone bad and I didn't have the tools to repair it myself.
HELP!!!!!
I've got a problem with my 2002 STS that I have not seen before.
When I start the engine everything looks fine. Then when I shift it in "reverse" or in "drive", the message "service stability system" shows up in the dash.
In addition the ABS light and the TC light turn on and stay...
STS vibration
After a year I got tired of the vibration and decided to take it to a Cadillac dealership and had them diagnose the problem.
They said the belts in the tires were shifted. I agreed to 4 new tires. They advised Continental contact.
After the new tires were mounted I took it for a...
Thanks for the info.
If you have any instrcutions available then yes I would appreciate it if you could forward those to me.
I noticed that the rear side of the moonroof was lower than the roof when closed but I thought it would be ok.
I quickly compared it to another STS that was on the...
When driving at higher speeds the wind starts whisling at the moonroof because when closed, the back edge of the moonroof is slightly lower than the roof itself. Is the hight of the moonroof adjustable?
Another thing to watch out for is vibration.
Make sure before you buy it, it does not vibrate. If it does have it fixed and tested before paying any money!
Guys,
I found a leak at the waterpump gasket of my 2002 STS, at least, I think it's the gasket.
I looked at a few things and from what I can tell, I might not be able to just have easy access to it.
Does anybody know what it takes to replace this gasket?
I have checked the wheel bearings, multiple times. They're perfect as far as I can see. No play at all in any direction, no roaring noise/sound either and no play in any of the ball joints.
I recently talked to somebody who had vibration in a DTS. He had a crack in one of the rotors. So I...
I think I finally found out what is causing the vibration in my car.
Yesterday we had a hot and sunny day with temperatures of around 98.
When I drove home I hardly felt any vibration. There was some but way less than what I normally feel. I felt the tires when I got home and they were hotter...
Ok, I got the wheels balanced with a Hunter Road Force machine.
No better results. The comment was: "if you do not feel any change, you're betting on the wrong horse by checking the tires".
The car vibrates and the vibration comes and goes. I feel it in the seat and also the steering wheel...
I've got a different rim on the car.
It's way better. I think there is still a little vibration but if I can't get rid of that, I can live with this level of vibration.
However I'll find a local shop with Hunter balancing machine and have the wheels balanced on it.
Don't know exactly when...
That would be a pitty if the car is totaled. Especially if you put a lot work and money in it.
Must have been really severe hail to damge a car like that.
I didn't know the rims could be repaired. Thanks for the website.
I just hope that this is the real and only cause of the vibration...
I also visited the road force website. I can see now why you guys recommend this system. It will be my next choice if the wheels have to balanced.
There is indeed a service center close by that uses a system like that.
Thanks
When I saw the picture of the axle I got scared more than a little.....
So this is what I did in the mean time:
I located a professional tire expert centre.
I went there yesterday and gave them the whole story and wanted to either designate the tires as the root cause or rule them out.
First...
I haven't put on new tires yet. I started looking at different brands and I'm still in the deciding fase. The thing is, if it's not the tires then the price ticket of the tires will be added to the repair costs of the real cause.
What's not clear to me is, when the axle runs in an elliptical...
