Hi,

I've got a weird problem:

After the engine had been repaired for a severe engine oil leak (engine had been taken out for repair at the Cadillac dealership).
The p0300 error started to come up.
It has been back for diagnosys for this problem a number of times.
At the Cadillac dealership they couldn't find te problem.
Also other garages failed to solve this problem.
The engine idles and runs fine. When driving between about 85 km/h and 100 km/h, the engine light comes on and very often the chime alarm goes off followed by the messages: "service traction control", followed by "service stability control".
These messages and the chime alarm keep on coming up and the dealership as well as other garages told me that this was the result of the misfire detections (p0300).
When I drive it at 105 km/h, these messages and chime alarm stop coming up but of course the engine light is still on.
When the engine is cold it takes about half an hour before all this starts happening.

I'm totally puzzled and extremely frustrated.

Does anybody have an indication of what this could be? cranckshaft position sensor maybe?

Thanks,

Ron

Is this the only code p0300? Clear all your codes then see what pops back up. Write them down and post!
