    Winter driving the MKVIII????

Yes , the WD40 drys the lock/latch removing the moisture that froze the mechanism when the temp dropped to well below freezing . The car is oil spray undercoated , has snow tires , i use the traction control and start off in 2nd gear on snow or ice .

    Winter driving the MKVIII????

The Mark isn't the greatest driving in snow but -20's C here last nite , doors were frozen shut again . I've had to replace both door handles over time when they snap trying to open the doors . Picked up some wd40 for the handles/latches and silicone spray for the door seals , hopefully that...

Hopefully back on the road for winter

I understand where y'all are coming from , this car is no winter beater , i look after it . There is no rust anywhere , i've always kept it undercoated . Unfortunately it still has next to no resale value . Lots of very nice cars are winter driven here and i get to drive my Lincoln . Plans were...

Hopefully back on the road for winter

Guys , it's my winter driver . I live in a border city , when crossing that border i have to have 100% confidence that my trunk lid or hood will open when a customs officer wants to check the car . There will be a lot more than 2 little holes drilled in that hood if the sob won't open . At least...

My gen 1 came with only 1 key and you are right , i had no idea it didn't fit the trunk lock until the car was 12 yrs old and this problem happened . Yep , tried jumping that button after removing it from the door panel and i sprayed the lock with lots of wd40 . Now that i can get the trunk...

Umm , undercarriage , no ! Why would you want to wash the oil off the chassis ? However there will be some overspray on the body and some seepage from drain holes in body panels like trunklid , doors , rear quarters etc . I clean it up after a week or so , wax and cover the car for winter...
