hood won't open

Went to go pop the hood today in the 98 and it won't pop open. The hood release doesn't click when I pull it. Anyone had this issue before?

No not in a mark
but sounds like you never lube it up
just have someone pull the hood release and at the same time give the hood some love taps
But remember its aluminum and will dent easily.

Did this work , couldn't get mine to open so i put it away in storage , driving my stang for the summer .

I've had this problem with an s10 before, to get it to pop I had someone push slightly down on the hood in the latch area while pulling the release..maybe it will work, maybe not..give it a shot, just be careful with that "superior" aluminum 2nd gen hood ...lol sorry had to reference the 1993 vs 1998 thread.
