    Vendor Issues - UnknownCoatings...

I don't post often anymore here since I totalled my Lincoln, but I was a regular poster on the Continental subforum and I'm also a member of other forums. I'm cross-site posting this to bring attention to the a bad vendor called UnknownCoatings. http://6crew.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16990...

    analog clock

HAHAHA...mine just went too. I'm going to pop off my dash tomorrow and see what type of bulb/mini bulb it needs. If I figure it out, I'll post up how to do it or if you feel really scared, if you take it out and pay for shipping back and forth I'll fix it for you (as I'll need to buy bulbs...

    CD player problem

I believe you purchased the JBL system and your car didn't have one to begin with. The JBL system has seperate amps for the speakers. This is similar to the Bose systems in Nissans.

    1997 continental emergency brake cable

The cable is self adjusting. There is a metal clip that needs to be pulled down, which will release the slack. The next few steps I'm a little grey on, but if I recall you need to reengage the clip and then engage the parking brake for about 10 minutes. Then, release the parking brake...

    Brake Lamp Warning

Sorry, misunderstood, thought you meant the brake light, not the LCD display. It's probably a short/corrosion somewhere.

    Brake Lamp Warning

The light comes on under two main circumstances. The first is when your parking brake is engaged or at least the sensor thinks its engaged at the pedal. Mine sometimes doesn't fully disengage when I put the car in drive (automatic release), but if I nudge it with the top of my foot upwards...

    a/c

I'd love to know how refridgerant can add capacity. It may compress more, but volume is volume. Also oil doesn't leak out of the system like refridgerant does, so adding more oil is just adding more volume to the already at capacity system. Don't believe everything you read on these...

    a/c

A/C low side is on the passenger side, right next to the strut tower. When buying refridgerant, unless you have replaced your compressor, don't buy any with oil in it. Too much oil in the system will cause your A/C system to fail. In regards to leak sealant, be careful, this stuff can...

    99 transmission

Did they pull the codes for the transmission and check engine light? If not, get that done, preferrably right after the cars check lights come on. There could be two unique problems or only one. My check engine light recently went on. Pulled the code and it was telling me I was running...

    All Lights

The big problem with LEDs is they really do not create a very broad angle of illumination, so if the bulb is not angled right, it won't produce the same effect as a standard bulb. I also agree with the above post about HIDs, not just about the reflective problem, but also about the angles the...

    98 Conti Died

One thing I learned about these cars is just one bad coil can cause the car to have a real bitch of a time starting or even running (I've seen four cylinders work better on just 3 cylinders).

Keep us posted on how the double din fits.

    Stereo question

I'll be honest, I've always wondered this too...it looks to me like the radio is almost a double din. The only thing that might be unusual for sizing is that the radio has a dip in the back of it, which might be there because of ducting or framing of the dash. So the double din might fit...

    2001 Conti Problem....HELP!!!!

I'd either take it to the dealership or a shop the specializes in electronics. There is nothing in that area that should be leaking that would cause smoke, which means it leaves electrical. It could be your clock spring is worn and the wires are chaffed and in short, you could have an...

    Window Washer Issue

You can definately get this at a dealership, but if you go to NAPA or the like and bring in your hose you can get a replacement (raw hose) from them as well.
