1997 Mark VIII neon bar and CHMSL wiring problem

Hi everybody. I am in need of your help with a wiring issue regarding the neon bar on the trunk lid and the CHMSL under the the rear window. Now before you start, I have already checked the search function and read just about every topic related to others having issues with either neon or the...

Thoughts on Mark VIII, LS, Seville & Eldorado

I've owned a 1997 Mark VIII since fall 2016, and I did own a 1994 Seville STS from 2008 to 2013. Between the two, i definitely recommend the Mark. Cadillac may have had a 300hp Northstar engine, but being FWD, it wasn't made for driving. It was only quick in a straight line, and a major part of...

Q: Mark VIII passenger door window

Interesting. So a window motor could still be an issue? I'll be sure to get a new motor for the parts bin just in case.

    Evap emission canisters necessary?

Mine rusted out as well last year (on my 97). Considering the rest of the car, the EVAP canister tray is made of really thin and flimsy material. At the time mine dropped I was about 100 miles from home out in the country side, so I removed the canisters and the tubes as carefully as I could and...

    Customer reviews, Arnott or Strutmasters

I put in about a 1000€ in parts and work in order to get my air ride sorted out, but in the end I was still not happy with the reliability. So I went with full Arnott conversion. I now have a normal ride height, no noticeable difference in suspension hardness or travel (can still ignore most...

Q: Mark VIII passenger door window

Problem solved. The issue was that when the window was being lowered, it lowered itself right onto a mis-routed door handle cable which stopped any further downward movement. The speed is not quite the same, but I think that is more related to the passenger window not being an 'express down'.

    Too many choices HID kit.

I replaced my stock headlight bulbs with a 35w 9006 HID kit and honestly the performance is way worse than with one light having a factory bulb and the other one with an unknown HID bulb, no matter how I adjust the bulb or the headlight. They don't blind other drivers, but they also provide less...

Q: Mark VIII passenger door window

2 years ago I bought my 97 Mark VIII and noticed a curious thing with my passenger door window. As I couldn't get any real answer out of the local fans or owners, I've tried not to have it bother me, but recently, seeing some youtube videos, I cannot but be bothered. In short. My driver side...

The Dumbest things found done to your "new to you" MKVIII

Had something of a similar experience when buying mine a few years ago. First, as gas in Europe is somewhat expensive, some heavily-driven American cars run an LPG conversion, since LPG is priced at about 40% of gasoline. Well, mine had the conversion and the seller assured me that everything...

    Hello from across the Pond

Hello. Long time reader, first time poster. I have a 97 Mark VIII with 260,000 miles, bought it cheap a few years ago when the local fuel prices started to hurt daily driving a Ford Expedition with mud tires. The Lincoln had run an LPG conversion for over 7 years, so it was really not much of a...
