Understand, it's at a Buy-Here-Pay-Here lot. They can get away with overpricing it because their buyers have lousy credit and can't get a car any other way. They sweeten the deal by telling you it's 0% interest but the interest is built into the price. And the interest is HIGH.

Actually, I finally found a site that listed the steering ratio for the LS. It's not as bad as I thought. 17.5:1. But I have been driving Fox body Cougar XR7s since the mid 80s and I guess I've just gotten used to the 15:1 rack in those.

Does the sport have a tighter steering ratio? Or is there an aftermarket or other steering rack that would give me a lower ratio?

transmission and diff won't handle more than 300 bhp (at least not for very long) and anything over 300 Pound/feet of torque is likely to twist the uni-body out of shape unless you have sufficient sub-framing. So why not just cut the entire floor pan out and start from scratch? Build a tube...
