Rebuilt My Front End, 2002 LSE

Late 2002 build (mine was October) had 16mm ball joints, which mine did have 16mm ball joints and lower control arm. Well now it's 14mm. Oh well, I'm not to bothered about it.

Rebuilt My Front End, 2002 LSE

Update: After driving around for a few weeks, and getting on the freeway, there is some vibration and slight pulling to the right at about 70 to 75 MPH. The dream would have been to put all new parts in and have the car tight and as perfect as when it was new. Maybe that's a non-realistic dream...

Rebuilt My Front End, 2002 LSE

I finally rebuilt the front end of my 2002 Lincoln LSE, manual, 3.0, 155,000 miles (California car for all but it's first year of existence, which made everything much easier). I started with the driver side and it took me parts of 3 days (not continuously though). I wasn't doing it at my house...

    removing/replacing 3.0 oil pan

Hopefully someone will give another answer, but, I don't believe I used any RTV when changing mine. I would probably go with what Fel-Pro suggests. Good Luck!

3.0 Gen 1 Cooling Parts List?

Well, sorry it's taken so long but all went well with replacing most of my cooling parts (2002 LSE V6 Manual). Here are some pictures of the parts I replaced, all are Motorcraft and I was able to buy almost all of them as new old stock on Ebay for the most part, at far under list rice. It did...

3.0 Gen 1 Cooling Parts List?

I have that hose already and was lucky enough to find most of the other parts online, new from people just selling them. All Motorcraft parts. Other than rubber hoses I'm thinking I'm pretty good to go and will be doing this in the next few weeks most likely. I can't remember all the prices at...

3.0 Gen 1 Cooling Parts List?

I do know a lot of parts are the same between the Jaguar S and Lincoln LS, but I searched Jaguar and the picture didn't look quite like the LS degas bottle. Knowing the picture may not have been the actual piece sometimes, I just decided at this point it would be safer just to find the best...

3.0 Gen 1 Cooling Parts List?

Thanks for the headsup. I ordered an OEM Ford bottle for $188. Hopefully I'll be able to start this fix as the weather is getting better here. I don't have an empty garage at the moment.

3.0 Gen 1 Cooling Parts List?

If I've learned nothing else by wading through all the cooling issue threads of the V8's it's that a non OEM degas bottle is a bad idea. Thanks for the clarification though. I'm acquiring OEM parts and that one will be part of the changes as well.

3.0 Gen 1 Cooling Parts List?

Thanks, I've already bought the DCCV, Thermostat, Thermostat housing (metal), upper radiator hose, hydraulic pump actuator... all Motorcraft (none installed). I replaced the degas bottle about a year ago, Dorman on that one. I've checked Rock Auto but will take a look at Tasca. Thanks again.

3.0 Gen 1 Cooling Parts List?

I have been looking all over this site and have read and re-read the cooling threads over and over and only seem to see the ones regarding the 3.8 V8's. Is there a comparable link somewhere regarding the cooling system parts for the V6 engines? I apologize if it's out there but I promise I've...

    removing/replacing 3.0 oil pan

Just an update on my oil pan gasket replacement. Almost 2 months later and not a single drop of oil has fallen. It is worth all the work unless you like spending your money more than I do. Like I said in post #14, if you follow the procedure posted earlier and learn from my mistakes (bracket...

    removing/replacing 3.0 oil pan

Damn, I had almost a completed reply here and hit a button that moved me back a page and lost it. This one will probably be shorter, lol. I got the oil pan gasket replaced and after about three weeks of driving......... no leaks. It's awesome not having a leakin' Lincoln. It seems that...

    removing/replacing 3.0 oil pan

Okay, after much frustration, trial and error, I've found the bolt size for the lifting/support holes in the 2002 3.0 6 cylinder Duratec engine. They are M12-1.75 pitch (the pitch was the key of course). I used a 40mm length but I'm sure it could be smaller as I threaded them in a LONG way.

    Engine Support Bolts

They are just empty threaded holes. I should be able to figure it out either by some more trial and error or maybe even calling a Lincoln service dept. I just thought someone here would know after having done the same thing. When I find out I will add it here in case someone else searches for...

    Engine Support Bolts

I'm a new forum member (old LLSOC member from years ago). I have searched the net, and the site, and can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for so thought I'd try to find out asking in an "Oil Pan Removal thread" instead of starting a new one. I replied in that thread and then thought that...

    Hello All

Hi there, I've owned a 2002 Lincoln LSE, 3.0, manual since about 2004 (bought @ 10.,000 miles, currently at about 126,000). It's still going pretty strong but I've been doing some things to it lately that I need some inside information about that I don't seem to be able to glean from the...
