Electric systems died while driving. Won’t start.

I had a similar issue a while back with the dash lights. I ended up replacing both the alternator and the battery, but I believe the battery went bad because of the alternator having issues. So I'm guessing alternator for you as well.

    Alternator...?

Thanks for the heads up and warnings everyone. I'll get that battery swapped out ASAP. And, alternator went in Saturday morning. Pretty easy job on this car. Thanks again!

    Alternator...?

Thanks Andrizzle and G-RELL. I just wanted to do a sanity check and make sure I was thinking of this the right way. Calling the dealer now.

    Alternator...?

The battery connections are tight. I was thinking more at the alternator or something.

    Alternator...?

Hey guys, My 2000 LS (3.0L V6) threw a bunch of lights on the display the other day (traction control, ABS, air bag, and lamp out indicator) and then died. My daughter was driving it, so I went to get her and jumped it, it fired right up and I drove it home. I checked the battery and it was...

What is this part? And other issues...

Okay, thanks for the thoughts Joe. I won't be able to look at it further until tomorrow probably, but will post then if I come across anything that could be helpful. Thanks again.

What is this part? And other issues...

I put the temperature sensor in today, drove it a couple of miles down the road and back to my house, then sat in my driveway with it idling in gear, and still felt it. Would it take more time/miles than that for it to adjust?

What is this part? And other issues...

Right. You'd think the symptoms would get worse while driving, but instead they go away. Or, because it's so slight to begin with, it becomes unnoticeable. It doesn't feel like anything too bad, but is really irritating. I'll get under the car as soon as I can and poke around and see what I...

What is this part? And other issues...

Motor mounts are good. I just replaced them a week ago. Whatever it is, it feels like it's right underneath me sometimes. It's not anything big, just some sort of "bump" every couple of seconds when stopped, but in gear.

What is this part? And other issues...

Thanks for the feedback, tireman. I just went out and played with that fitting some. It didn't seem to make any difference at all whether I shoved it further in or took it all the way out and sprayed starting fluid in it. Just for good measure I went ahead and put a clamp on it, though. I've...

What is this part? And other issues...

Fortunately, it wasn't tight and a screw extractor was able to spin it out easily. So issues 1 and 2 are both resolved -- or will be tomorrow when I get the new sensor to install. Now I just need to be sure I don't have any leaks on the air intake.

Disregard issue 2. I found the answer in this post: http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/forum/showthread.php?31089-Where-is-Cyl-1-2000-Linc-LS-V6-(V6-V6-V6)&p=280734#post280734

What is this part? And other issues...

ISSUE 1 I was just looking under the hood of my 2000 V6 and noticed this electrical connector hanging loosely. So I disconnected it and pulled it out. Is this the temp sender? I was trying to figure out how/why it was just sitting so loosely in that hole, and now I realize there...

2002 lincoln ls v8 radiator removal

You should really consider purchasing a manual. That said, my manual didn't have the radiator removal procedure for a 2002, but here it is for 2001. Also, if it seems like a couple of steps are missing, those related to the 3.0 only, so don't apply to your vehicle. Good luck!

    Check engine

It worked with my 2000 LS (V6) okay. I haven't had a chance to play with it too much, but it did connect and communicate, which is more than my other code reader could do. I used the free version of the Torque app, and while I didn't have any codes for it to read (it checked and confirmed...

V6 vs V8 Motor Mount Bracket

Yes, this is exactly the behavior I was seeing. If you end up needing mounts let me know, I've got a set for the V8 I'd gladly send you for just the cost of shipping. I bought them on eBay hoping that they were the same but, of course, they're not.

V6 vs V8 Motor Mount Bracket

I can now confirm two things related to the motor mount brackets: 1. The V6 and V8 motor mount brackets are not the same. 2. For the V6, the LS and Jaguar motor mount brackets are the same. I think they're even still making them for the Jags. The bracket from my LS is on the left (think...

    Check engine

The BAFX Bluetooth OBD reader that I ordered arrived. I haven't had a chance to play with it much yet, but I can at least say that it does, in fact, communicate with the car, which my old CenTech reader from Harbor Freight does not. I'm using it with the Torque app, free version so far, on my...

I ordered one of these yesterday, and plan to use it with the Torque app for Android. It's supposed to be here tomorrow. I'll let you know how/if it works.
