You can use any 3.9 upper tensioners. The difference is the bolts that bolt them on are a different length since the tensioner body is slightly different. The new tensioners will probably come with new bolts so there shouldn't be a problem.

I understand that the 2002 and up had many unusual options which is why I was just curious about the 2000 and 2001. Based on what I know, my 2000 is as fully loaded as possible. My 2001 is not.

I changed many settings: AC, recirc, auto, fan, temp, defrost... I have not tried self diag.

I was changing the cabin air filter in this 2000 LS I just bought and noticed the recirc door was closed. I messed with the settings and never saw it open. I only want fresh air, not this recirc garbage.

Yeah that makes sense. Don't the front lower ball joints usually last a long time though? Do yours have play in them?

Have you considered buying the spindles since they have the ball joint already installed?

What options could you get with the 2000 and 2001 LS? Here's what I can think of: V8, Sport, heated seats, stereo, deck subs, sunroof, fullsize spare. Anything else?

I would certainly remove the hood, radiator, and intake manifold first. I have a 2-ton shop crane and leveler. I have pulled the engine/trans out of my Z28 a few times.

Anyone have pics or advice on engine removal? I don't have a lift so more than likely I'll pull the 3.9 and trans out the top.

Jack up each corner of the car. Shake the wheel up and down, left and right. Find out what part has play.

My LS doesn't have a block heater. It also doesn't have any rust. Gotta love the South.

I got my pan gasket from Tasca. When the pan is off, it is also a good idea to remove the oil pump pickup and clean the junk out of it. Mine was full of timing chain guides lol.

Id say its a good price. Think about how much the AC, alt, PS pump, and fan pump would be worth.

I have no idea why someone would buy connector extensions. Any mechanic should be able to reverse all 8 stock connectors in about 30 minutes.

What are the mounting brackets for? If you are talking about using them to secure the coils, I didn't use anything to hold down my coils. The boots hold them in place just fine. My CEL has not come on any since I switched to these Accels.

Yeah I looked at that ET thread and it's a mess. Maybe someone can make a new 1/8 list and 1/4 list.
