    '99 Lincoln Continental Refurbishment

I bought my 1999 Lincoln Continental new in the summer of 1999 and ordered it from the factory (vs. selecting one off of the lot) with EVERY available option (over $20,000 additional cost to MSRP, if memory serves me) except for the tire air pressure system option. I had a 1997 Continental...

    Strange Happenings

About 2-3 months or so ago, I woke up at ~3 am, got some water and was heading back to bed when I looked at my 2017 Cadillac XTS, which was parked on the street for this one night (usually garaged), and I noticed something sticking straight up behind the rear window. I looked and looked at it in...

    2017 Cadillac XTS

After 19 years of owning a superb 1999 Lincoln Continental with EVERY factory option possible (added about $15k - $20k++ to the MSRP as I recall), I gave the Lincoln to my 17 year-old nephew who just got his license. I then bought a 2017 Certified Cadillac XTS. I did look at the new Lincolns...

    Start up noise?

I've had a similar noise on my 1999 Continental for the last 5 years or so (101,000 miles). I hear it only upon cold start-up in the morning and while driving for the first few minutes -- then all is quiet for the rest of the day. I stopped trying to figure out the cause several years ago as...

    Continental Instrument Cluster Went Dark

Just to update. . . I am not capable of taking apart the dash to replace the instrument cluster and don't want to spend the money to have someone else do it. I ended up buying a small 3-digit LED GPS speedometer that sits on the dash for about $50. Problem solved (bypassed) for now! Thank...

    Continental Instrument Cluster Went Dark

Fuse #26 is OK. I guess I'll take the car into Lincoln for an estimate. In the meantime (or in lieu of), I'm purchasing an "external" speedometer - like this -...

    Continental Instrument Cluster Went Dark

I have a 1999 Lincoln Continental with 95,000 miles on it. After the car sat for over a month (I was having hip replacement surgery), I went to use the car and all seemed fine except for the projected display (speedometer, tachometer, etc...) -- it is black and I cannot see the speedometer now...

    '99 Lincoln Continental Refurbishment

Very nice car indeed. How can you be sure that very expensive parts like the catalytic converters are in good shape? Any way to test them?

    New (used) Lincoln owner

Get some cleanser and a small brush and hit those chrome rims really good. They will look amazing when you're done. I have identical factory chrome rims on my black 1999 Continental.

    Wanted: 1995 - 2002 Lincoln Continental Floormats

Hi. . . I am looking for OEM floor mats for my 1999 Lincoln Continental. I've checked ebay, Amazon, etc... no luck. Everything available looks nearly as bad as mine! It's primarily the driver's side that is bad - worn out. Color I believe is Med Graphite Gray. Any idea where else...

    '99 Lincoln Continental Refurbishment

I have an air deflector on my 1999 Continental (bought new). Or should I say "what's left of the deflector..." -- after 16 years of scraping it against parking bars and curbs! Awesome job you're doing on your '99.

    Fuel Filler Neck/vent Tube Problem.

This same exact issue happened to me (1999 Continental) a few months ago - http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f155/gas-pump-constantly-shuts-off-during-refueling-922738.html For some unknown reason, the problem went away as suddenly as it appeared.

    Windshield Washer Line

My problem is that I am a noob under the hood. But I'll find some one who can help me. Thanks!

    Windshield Washer Line

I have a 1999 Continental w/ 85,000 miles on it (purchased new). The windshield washer line has literally disintegrated & of course no longer squirts fluid onto the windshield - just the engine! I looked up part numbers and am confused as the same part number seems to be used for various...

    Suspension firmness question

Absolutely can feel the difference when driving at very high speeds on Interstate + exit ramps & hard, higher speed cornering. FIRM = much stiffer. Driving around town or 55 mph highway - not really.

    Brake Replacement 2001 Continental

Firestone has had all of my business since I got my license ~25 years ago and the very few issues that crept up were taken care of immediately after a call to corporate HQ. In 2009, they did $5,000 work on my 1999 Continental (then 55k mi) - new steering system, tires, rotors, brakes, fuel...
