1993 Lincoln Mark VIII - Need help with sunroof motor replacement

Anne, I wrote the tut on replacing the sunroof assembly. If you are only replacing the motor, you should be able to do it in 10 minutes or less. First pop off the motor cover above the back seat. Next, use a torx screwdriver to remove the copper-colored screws. IIRC its a Torx 25 (T25) but...

    '06 LS, 73K, Elite package - $4500

Thanks for the correction on the Elite Package. I will correct the ad if it stays up long enough to be corrected! I thought because it had the LSE style foglamps, it was an elite. Did all 2006 models have LSE styling???

    '06 LS, 73K, Elite package - $4500

Here is the text of the ad: Up for grabs is a beautiful 2006 Lincoln LS V-8 with only 73K miles! Current Kelly Blue Book on this car is about $12,000 on a private party sale, and over $14,000 from a dealer! So here's a chance to have a $12-14,000 car for about $6500 (after repairs - the...

    '06 LS, 73K, Elite package - $4500

I reposted it so hopefully it will stay up. It needs a motor and some other minor things. Ford verified all computer modules to be functional. New ECU has been installed. The car is described as a flood car in the post on CL - I'm trying to put anything past anyone. Joegr, you are being a...

    '06 LS, 73K, Elite package - $4500

Its in Dallas, and its my car. I would give an LVCer a discount if you want to tackle this challenge. Somebody who already has a spare motor could really make out like a bandit on this one! http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/2981167905.html

Unlocking of new ECU - advise?

joegr, I knew I could count on you! You are the most knowledgeable guy out there regarding the LS, IMHO. Would you mind getting out your spoon and telling me what these others things are that I should have replaced? I don't recognize the acronyms - FEM & REM. As always, thank you for your...

Grinding noise from transmission area - SOLVED!

The bolts are easy to find. Just get under your car (with jack stands of course) and look directly behind the transmission where it meets the drive shaft. There is a plate there with two bolts facing straight up. The plate should be tight against the bracket it attaches to - if there is any...

need new coils for v6 - does it matter which?

I've successfully used coils from my 4.6 Mark VIII's on my 3.0 LS's. Just switch out the boot. The connector is the same. But Shredicus is right about it being a PIA cuz u have to pull the entire intake manifold, which includes removing windsheild wipers, cowl, support brace, etc, etc, etc...

Grinding noise from transmission area - SOLVED!

I had a bad grinding noise coming from what seemed to be under the shifter. The noise was heard during acceleration, and when the car was in gear. It was a metallic grinding sound, not pretty at all. After reading a few posts on LVC, I suspected my torque converter (TC) had gone south. One...

Unlocking of new ECU - advise?

Hope everyone is having a good weekend! I have an '06 LS with 73K that I bought really cheap due to its being a flood car. Car is silver with tan leather, fully loaded. It looks great, and I couldn't otherwise afford a 2006 LS so I took a gamble on this one. I need to unlock a new ECU, and...

awesome craigslist find...not sure about price

I can see that CE going for $12-14k to the right buyer. Its basically a new car, and it has all the collectible goodies that came with it. Also goes to show that buying cars new and not putting any miles on them is not a good investment strategy.

    Bought a '98 LSC with 62K - Pics

sbcaprice305 - Yes, I was very sick of the LS - I have three at the moment! The LSC feels so much more laid-back and comfortable, but still fast when called on. 97MarkJA - Thanks for the info on removing, I have a Dremmel so thats something I could do Pieces of 8 - I think I will leave the...

    Bought a '98 LSC with 62K - Pics

I am debating removing the pinstriping, but it seems to have been painted on, so I'm not sure about the best way to do it. I kind of like the little Lincoln emblem in the pinstripe - I've never seen that before. Must have been done at the dealership.

    Bought a '98 LSC with 62K - Pics

Well I finally found that "perfect" LSC I've been looking for. Its 98, silver with grey leather, chrome wheels, pretty much every option except heated seats. The car has been garaged since new, and has only 62k miles. I have owned many Mark's, but now I feel like I know how they drove when...
