Thank you for the inputs. I searched the internet and found similar boots with bolt, height and bottom diameter dimensions. I need to take measurements of the ball joint to get the closest boots that will fit, unless some of you already know what the dimensions are and can pass them on to me.

2005 LS Ultimate: Can anyone tell me whether I can just buy and replace the front suspension upper arm ball joint (rubber) dust cover or do I need to replace the whole upper arm/ball joint assembly? I appreciate if you know of sources were I can get just the dust cover if that repair is possible.

Nothing mentioned about coils. My experience with my 2005 LS V8 is that when accelerating hard from cruising at 50-55 mph, the car will start jerking; that's my signal to have the coils checked and replaced even though there are no trouble codes.

There is a TSB about repair of the servo bores. My 2005 LS was done back in 2011 when it had 43,600 miles on it under the extended warranty I purchased. TSB 09-12-12, I tried to attach the file but looks like it is too large. You can search the TSB on the internet.

For some reason I had the same issue a few years back. I disconnected the battery and since the back of the car was partially out of the garage and it started to rain, I closed the trunk lid. The key would not open the trunk; it seems the key, when turned, activates a motor that opens the trunk.

Have you checked the battery? If the outside temp got up to 120F it may have affected the battery, and a weak or dying battery, from what I read in previous articles, can cause havoc with the car electronics.
