    For Sale

I do not know where on this forum to post to sell a car so I will simply post. I have a 2011 Town Car Executive L. Livery sedan Black Int. 98 Navigator heater not putting out enough heat

Easy fix simply have a Ford dealer power flush & refill your coolant system. Changing the radiator will hardly make a dent. You need to have the entire system flushed clean. Scott

    New To Cadillac

Hello; thanks for the replies. The original tires have been replaced as has the serpentine belt. I have done exactly 2 things with the car: 1) I had the windows tinted (I can't tolerate bright lights) and 2) The paint/finish buffed. I have not driven the car in the wet - which is near impossible...

    New To Cadillac

UPDATE: I just checked and the A/C system does indeed blow cool just barely cool. The lines exiting the A/C compressor are warm to the touch and the line entering the evaporator case is cool to the tough but just barely cool. Since the clutch cycles on and off I think I have no leak. I also...

    New To Cadillac

Hello all; I have obtained my first Cadillac. It is a 1992 Cadillac Brougham Light Blue ext. on Blue Leather int. Very low miles garage kept 9,082 to be exact. Mechanically the car is perfect. It does however, need an A/C recharge. I do not know if R12 simply goes 'bad or away' after nearly 24...

What is the difference between these Motorcraft shock choices?

am not aware of a 'handling package' in a town car. other panthers sure, crown vics and grand marquis but not heard of that in a town car

    Similar problem but different (Battery/alternator)?)

Hello; Also check the ground strap to the fender. If that is loose or loses connection your motor will die. Be forewarned that bolt can be extremely hot to the touch. Same issue I had on a 1994 Grand Marquis. Scott

    Modulated Torque Lock Up

I had an '05 Grand Marquis and now I have a 2006 Town Car. They both have 'a modulated torque converter lock up' meaning they lock gradually. I also have a 1996 that is not at all modulated as it feels herky jerky upon lock/unlock sorta like an older early lock up style mopar. Does a 1996 Town...

1996 Town Car Speedometer going crazy

Hello All; I finally got around to swapping out the origional alternator for a new unit this past weekend. Speedometer issue is resolved. It now reads zero and odometer also has stopped as well as fuel mileage indicator while in park all read zero. I let the dealer do the fan clutch as it was a...

1996 Town Car Speedometer going crazy

Where is an 'alternator diode pack' inside the alt? if so, then shouldn't I simply replace the alternator and while at it order a new speed sensor for the tranny? My 1996 has this exact same issue. Thanks, Scott SSmith440@hotmail.com

    Exhaust question for panther owners

This code is almost (90%) always due to a bad gas cap. The seals around the cap harden or get mossy depending on where the car resides and the cap simply fails to seal letting the PCM throw the cat(s) in either bank 1 or 2 or both - insufficiency code. A $13.00 gas cap may cure your MIL issue up...

    1996 Town Car

Hello all; I picked up a high mileage, rust free, perfectly straight 1996 T/C about a week ago. Very nice car though not to the level as my 2006 T/C. Does any one have any idea(s) on how to replace the body to frame bushings and or increasing thier sizes? More rubber equals less NVH. Aside from...

    I got a new car!!!

At about a steady 30mph w/cruise on if you reset trip computer you should show close to 30mpg on flat ground come to a hill and the mileage will fall. in o/d at about 40 mph you should be about the same if slightly higher. this is what my 2006 shows and on a highway mileage reset at 60-65 mph...

What is Your Favorite Town Car Style?

1970's with 76-79 better. i'd have to take a way a few points from the 79's due to no 460 being available. why? gobs of torque and lots of room of course gas mileage is horrible but i don't drive my 1977 TC too often or too far. your poll has no selection older than 80's. scott...

    79 lincoln continental/mark v

yes you can remove it and the roof would look like any other mark v with out a vinyl roof. as for holes, unless there has been water leaking under the vinyl you should have no holes. about all you should find is whole bunch of 30+ year old dried up glue and foam to get rid of. if you find rust...
