    COPS replacement and coolant drain

On a 2002 Lincoln LS V6...just curious, why does the coolant need to be drained? And is this if one is replacing both rows of COPS or just when one removes the manifold. Thanks for all the info here.

    Check Engine Light

Dealer estimated cost to repair at $907. A bit steep for me. Another mechanic wanted to Perform "exploratory surgery" as he wasn't sure what it was. Estimated $700 in labor alone.

    Check Engine Light

Yes, 2002 LS V6. Did research the forum and it sounds more like the PVC then O2 sensors. Is this repair possible without putting the car on a lift? And to answer my original question, it sounds OK to drive 900 miles next week as the car isn't stalling etc. And to do repair after trip...

Thanks frogman. I have had the ABS kick in and do know the difference. You may be correct about having the ABS codes looked at. I'll do that. I did check the forums and read the owners manual. Thanks for typing your thoughts.

    Brake Issues

2002 Lincoln LS. After a two hour stop and go traffic jam suddenly when I depressed the brake pedal a sound started up. Sound seems to come from behind the firewall near the steering wheel area. It sounds like when you rub your hand against the bathtub. Anyway brakes were replaced about 6...
