Thank your lucky stars that there aren't two big holes in your bumper on which to mount an ugly metal plate. Doesn't it look nice without it? I would leave it that way.
Well there ya go. Ask one question get two different answers. Anyone else want to chime in?
I think you will be OK, but your gains won't be as much as with mass air. So you change the cam a little bit, big deal. The computer is still going to give the same amount of fuel and air as before...
Yeah,
Those are really cool speedometers. I know I saw one in a 72' Continental, and I can't remember exactly but my friends 77' TownCoupe might have the same thing or something slightly different. For sure those are really cool.
I think you would notice gains using the Ford Racing B cam. I thinks its pretty mild. Just remember that your speed density won't recognize it and therefore won't take full advantage of its potential.
Try cleaning or replacing your EGR. The wires are most likely original and should be replaced anyways. I would take off the EGR and look at it, its right on the intake. I would bet it will be full of carbon or clogged with something.
There could be a few reasons for your fuel indicator problems. Have you disconnected your battery recently? The computer takes a while to get used to your driving conditions. It will affect the Miles to Empty. Your sending unit could be going bad, or going out. Depends on how much work you...
I don't know what size belt for you to use, but the car will run fine without the airpump hooked up. I would imagine you would have more trouble finding a belt that will fit than getting a used airpump from a junkyard. I think almost any 5.0 of that era will have the same airpump.
Has anyone seen an early 50's Mercury that someone did the same type of thing to, only it was a Mark VIII type conversion? I came across it somewhere a long time ago.
