Your car is Gen 1 and mine is Gen 2 so I can't answer that. My best suggestion is to look in places like carparts.com and compare replacement part numbers between the same year T Bird and LS and see what you come up with.
Had I known I absolutely would have gone with lower cost T Bird stuff on...
Sounds reasonable. The car does not have factory heated or cooled seats. I did have a local audio shop install a seat heater on driver side only but of course that shouldn't have anything to do with the DATC.
No new or refurb units seem to be available. Which is to be expected for an 18 year old...
I've run the self test. The only thing that comes up is a 1265. This is shown below.
There are no other codes so I'm still wondering about this intermittent display darkness. Next plan is to locate the fuses and check for any dirt/corrosion on the contacts.
May also pull the DATC from dash and...
Such a weird intermittent thing. This morning the interior & exterior temps were lit up normally. But the buttons for the fan control, floor, defrost, etc. were not lit up. A mile down the road everything was lit normally. This was of course when it was still dark out.
I found a procedure...
I seem to have heat and the fan goes up or down when switch is pressed. But no display of exterior temperature, interior set temperature or fan speed.
This happened last week but just for a short time one day. Then the display returned and worked fine 4 or 5 days. Today I've started/shut down...
The Strutmasters were definitely not the cheap way out. But I will say that they seem to be quality units.
Even so, I would have gone with T Bird stuff had I known I could and saved a bunch of money. That stuff would have been fine for my uses of the car. I don't road race and don't need firmer...
So you're doing front only? Are you concerned about having different components for front & rear? Just asking for general knowledge, not a criticism at all. I didn't want to do driver side only with Strutmaster and have the passenger side stock. Especially not knowing if they were original...
After I had already ordered Strutmasters I did a little poking around online and wondered if I could have done the same thing when I discovered the LS and T Bird were on the same platform. Thunderbird shock/spring units would have saved me hundreds. I was not yet a member of this forum so I...
Yeah, I found that out when I was installing new shock/spring units from Strutmaster and noticed the driver side upper ball joint was questionable. Being the first time I ever worked on an LS I was winging it. I just cut the stud with a sawzall to undo the ball joint. Then slowed down and looked...
Dumb question. Does the upper ball joint even come out separately on these? When I recently did some suspension work on my 2005 Sport there was one questionable upper ball joint. It didn't look replaceable to me so I put in a new complete control arm.
It pays to shop around. Even adding in an...
Recently picked up a 2005 LS with 89k miles on it. Overall in very good shape. I did discover that it had broken coil spring both front & rear on the driver side when I took it in for new tires and alignment.
Self installed a set of 4 struts/springs from Strutmasters and all was good. Happened...
