If anyone has this problem it is a pin that fell out. It is the pin that holds the two plastic slide pieces together. Just pop it back in. We used lock tite to make sure it doesn't come out again. Thanks guys for the posts, Vic

I have the whole column dropped down from the car I just need to know how to get the thing apart from that point to get the old rods out and new rods in.

Yes I did disconnect the battery. I bought a new actuator rod set and the only problem is I do not know how to take the column apart to get the old rod out and the new rod in. Anyone know how to do that??? The column is like cast together and I just need to know how to separate it...

Thanks guys!! Yeah my dad bought the car with 75k miles. The only probs. with it is that it has a couple tears on the driver seat and a few dings on the sides but thats it. He only paid $2,000 for her!!! She's awesome looking!!!

I drove the car all day today and it didnt do it at all. It just seems to shift real early if im light on the gas. I drive her real slow and most of the bogging down motor problems happen if I keep the rpm's under 1500 if I get them up around 2000 it doesnt do it. Maybe I'm just to light on...

Do you mean a whole 98 trans. or do you just mean a 98 TC??

Ok thank you so much!!! I will make sure to drain the fluid from the TC. I hope a fluid change will fix the problem. The worst thing it posibly is, is probably the TC because I highly doubt the whole trans. would just take a crap.

I have a 1995 Lincoln Mark VIII with 118k miles on it; I doubt the transmission fluid has ever been changed on it. Anyways it was shifting funny almost like shuttering while shifting from 3rd to overdrive. I put some stop hard shifting fluid in the trans. and it stopped. Now about 3 months...
