Sold Gen2 Mark Viii complete or parts
Ok, tired of looking at it. 90k miles. is a 97 or 98, i forget. When i got it, it did not run. Fuel pump had failed. the tank is out. exhaust is off, all 3 cats are there. Nothing was cut when removing the tank. Tires and wheels are gone. this week only, $1200 for whole thing. Or come get what...- F4-U

97 mk viii fuel tank
Apparently the fuel pump assy is also obsolete. Which i was going to put a bigger unit in anyway. I have heard soooo many different versions as to what pump to use. Looks like 96-98 Cobra is the closest, but still needs modifications to fit.- F4-U

I elected to cut it at the 2nd fitting from the top where the left and right sides have a Y...
I elected to cut it at the 2nd fitting from the top where the left and right sides have a Y fitting. And lastly, as you are coming down, you will have to pull the tank forward to get the filler hoes to snake down out of the irs. Hope this helps. I know nobody else here will help you.- F4-U

Just went thru this today. I had to pry the tank away from floor, the foam pads had attached...
Just went thru this today. I had to pry the tank away from floor, the foam pads had attached themselves after 25 years. Next.... the vent that goes from 1 side to the other goes OVER the driveshaft. Got to unhook or cut it. then there is a hard plastic line that goes into some kind of emissions...- F4-U

Yes it was glued to the floor. The 4 foam pieces Ford has on the top of the tank had vulcan mind melded themselves to the floor. Anyone else , you are going to have to get "aggressive" ie prybar. Then there is the matter of the vent hose Ford has encircling the drive shaft o_O. Since the clamps...- F4-U

97 mk viii fuel tank
What's holding the fuel tank besides the 2 tank straps? They are off, the trans jack has about a 2" gap under the tank, but that dam thing will not move. It's like it is glued to the floor or there is more than the 2 straps holding it in. It is solid enough i would not be afraid to drive it...- F4-U

For Sale 98 MK viii parts
to the best of my knowledge. no oil in the coolant. no coolant in the oil. it does turn over. as for running, it has a fuel pump issue i have not diagnosed yet. either pick-up is fouled or pump is in-op.
