I dont know how it went. I had MichiganTeddyBear send me the rod with the plastic part and just removed the plastic part and screwed it on my door rod. It took about 20min total with door disasembly.

Just buy any cheap non-marine battery for a spare and it will work just fine. You dont need another conti battery or a tracter battery.

find someone on ebay selling alot of used lincoln parts or parts from a parts car. Then just send them an e-mail through ebay and ask if they could give you a qoute on the part. Ive had alot of success by doing this for odd parts for cars in the past.

This is halarious as I am doing the same exact thing this weekend because my front end drops randomly TO THE GROUND. Some times it will be fine, have left it for 3 days and no drop, it rarely drops in front on my house, but when I park in a driveway or on an incline it drops to the ground...
