    Ford Explorer forums

How did they join the wrong forum? They simply asked a question about a recommendation for an Explorer forum. Considering their Avatar picture is of a Lincoln LS I would say they are at the correct place they just had needs elsewhere and asked for a recommendation.

    2012 Navigator Radio Popping

There is a good chance it's the amp yeah. But I have seen some say around the web sometimes it's another issue that causes the amp to fail in the first place. We have not had any more issues with it since we replaced it so time will tell I guess.

Question about instrument cluster gen 2 LS V8

Oh ok, I will check again tonight and make sure they all work thanks for the clarification. I have an appointment Tuesday with an electrical shop in town so they can see what is going on exactly. But if any of them are burned out I will get that fixed as well. I know I have seen more random...

Question about instrument cluster gen 2 LS V8

The dimmer switch is all the way up. This was the reason I replaced the switch cause that dimmer switch spring was worn out and would move around! Dash is not lighting up if the headlights are set to on.

    AC Issues

You might want to find a good shop to take it to and have them check it out. They do have a tool that can go in the vent and determine if the valve inside the dash is leaking. Find a few shops to have it checked out this time of year many do free AC checks.

    Did the forum layout change?

It likely is because old plugins that were made for XenForo 1 did not fully migrate in all instances by developers for XenForo 2. There is a lot of plugins for XenForo 2 now though that should basically give the same features and functions.

    Did the forum layout change?

The only thing I notice that is missing is the article section! I am sure they will fix it over time though. But overall it runs a lot faster here now.

    Smoking after changing the belt

That is what I am going to do if my compressor starts to leak this year. I see on my LS the previous owner used dye to find the AC leak so it's a guess if they actually fixed the leak! Guess I will know in a few months! So far I have had no issues and it's been nice and cold since purchasing it...

    Smoking after changing the belt

If the compressor is a junk one that you use and it fails your going to be spending much more to get it all going again is why I would be cautious with this one decision. I have used many used parts in my cars before over the years but a used compressor is a no-go for me for the obvious reasons...

    Smoking after changing the belt

Drier, Condenser, and compressor for sure and flush the system. And pray the valve inside the dash is OK!

    Smoking after changing the belt

I am a big believer you get what you pay for... I am not a big fan of any used compressors or any of that China crap! And used is a risky chance as these compressors start to have issues over time. I sure would not want to risk something cheap failing and then having to take a dash out over a...

Question about upper timing chain tensioner

Too bad you didn't live in my neck of the woods in NC my guy charged me right at $400 to do the valve covers, spark plugs, coils, belt tensioner, and belt, rear-wheel knuckles, and rear brakes and rotors labor for $386! He even cleaned the MAF and the Throttle Body as a part of this service...
