    Coolant Outlet Connector

OK. I (still) have a coolant leak. So, I took my 2006 LS8 to the shop to have a leak test done. They told me I had a cracked coolant outlet connector. The shop was closed when I picked the car up and it's dark or I'd see if my assumption is correct, but can anyone confirm if this is the part...

    Lincoln LS 2006---overheating.

The only advice I can offer is make sure you are using a Motorcraft housing and Thermostat. I saw a part on Rock Auto that had the entire housing and thermostat all together and it was made by Gates, so I thought that looked convenient. WRONG! The thermostat was bad right out of the box and...

    Coolant Reservoir / Overheating

Update. The aluminum tank did not fit and I could not make it fit. It sure looks like it's supposed to work, but the mounting holes are just too far off. I suppose I could have mangled the aluminum to the point of making it work, but knowing my luck, I would have mangled it to the point I...

    Coolant Reservoir / Overheating

Thank you for the instructions. Much appreciated. The hose up against the firewall was a booger to get off, but thanks to a pick and a lot of pulling, it finally gave. Probably going to need a new hose now, but that's alright, this job calls for new ones anyway.

    Coolant Reservoir / Overheating

OK, I can usually find a YouTube vid on anything, but didn't find one on how to replace the coolant resevior on a 2006 LS8. Does anyone have a link to one? I THINK I recall watching one a bit back where the guy in the vid removed the wiper arms(?) Does that really have to be done to get this...

    Coolant Reservoir / Overheating

Thanks. I think I'm going to go that route. And thanks for the tip on the hose hookup.

They sell them on Ebay. See the link at the bottom of my orignal post.

    Coolant Reservoir / Overheating

Hello All, Well, I've replaced all my coolant parts (some twice as I was originally unaware of the need for Motorcraft parts...lesson learned). All the hoses and housings are now Motorcraft. My 2006 LS8 is still losing coolant over time causing it to overheat. My first question, can this car...

2006 LS8 "Stuck" on Max Heat

Check it out. I think I found the problem. Thanks for all your joegr. Like I said earlier, it didn't hurt at all to replace the DCCV as I'm sure the one I took out was the original.

2006 LS8 "Stuck" on Max Heat

I'll try that next. Thanks for all your help. I'm sure the DCCV I replaced was the original, so I guess I'll have to chalk that up to maintenance.

2006 LS8 "Stuck" on Max Heat

OK, I replaced DCCV with a genuine Motorcraft part and bled the system as advised. Turned on the A/C and it's still blowing max heat. Sure this POS doesn't have an actuator? Frustration mounting....

2006 LS8 "Stuck" on Max Heat

Thank you!!!! I'm so happy I don't have to remove the dash. I think that may be the ONLY coolant-related item I have not yet replaced on this thing. Don't worry, I have learned my lesson and ONLY replace with Motorcraft parts. Is this what I'm looking for? Thanks again.

2006 LS8 "Stuck" on Max Heat

Hello All, My 2006 Lincoln LS8 only blows max heat air. Even if I turn on the A/C and set the temp at 60 degrees, it blows max hot air as if I have the heat set at 90. A few years back, I had a Mercury Grand Marquis that did the same thing and I had to replace the actuator. Fortunately there...

    Random Alarm

About once a month or so, the alarm on my 2006 LS8 goes off. It lasts about 30 seconds and there is nothing I can do to shut it off, including using the fob, putting the key in the ignition, etc... Anyone else have this happen? Any ideas as to why? Thank you.
