your compressor relay is burned out,this is caused by leaks in the bags.if you just replace the relay with out fixing the bags it will burn out again.the 97's had rear air springs only,200,00 from arnotte.very easy to replace.a very very few 97's had full air ride,but it had to be special ordered.

replace your pcv assembly(12 bucks from ford)and replace the wires and plugs.use ford wires and motorcraft double plats.do not use bosch it will not run right. also the imrcs seldom go bad as stated a good cleaning should have restored performance.

actually it is not a hard job.you have to take off the airdam,and jack the cars front up high enough to be able to move freely(USE GOOD JACKSTANDS)it is a very heavy car.tale off the belt and unbolt the air compressor.you will have to turn it longways and carefully twist it up into the front...
