thinking about picking up a couple of these

for the rears. the tires i have suck laughably at launching at the track, and i would use this set of rears strictly as a to the track and back setup. (i live like 5 minuets away) if i did get these what tires, would you guys suggest? and if these wheels wouldnt work what would you use besides the skinnyass stock ones?

I'm not sure Mickey Thompson sells 18" ET streets, but I know that Nitto has an 18" tire that will probably work for ya in the "555" model. If you have traction issues with those 18" wheels and the Nitto trip 5s, I want a ride in your car!

thanks kirk. im kinda thinking about either the 555 radial or nt-05 radial (which i think is a little cheaper). has anybody used either of these?

mossbergman, I couldn't help but notice your shifty eyes in your signature. Get a stall converter and lose that stock intake and 13s will come your way. You're searching for 13s and I'm just handing you the flashlight.

Thanks kirk. Ill probably get those things later this summer when i can throw together some cash and have a little more time to mess with it. Im hoping the gears tune and Exhaust will get me close. What i really want is a cool launch pic like you and a few others have here lol

Not trying to dissuade you, but DLF and I both failed to hit 13s until we swapped the intake and we were both already running stall converters at the time too with full exhaust. Gen2s are at somewhat of a disadvantage hugely associated with the intake design. 13s will come, but I think it's going to take a bit more than what you have now. Not a whole lot, just a little bit.

Fairly well. Most on the NA list in the 13s are Gen 1s. They do it a bit easier than the Gen2s.
