So as some of you may know, I had to recently have my exhaust replaced because of it being clogged.... I had an exhaust shop run me a true dual set-up from the gutted cats and had them stop right before where the mufflers would be. I'll be ordering some mufflers very soon and was wondering what you guys' thoughts were on tips vs. dumps on a gen 1? I know if I want the tips to be "right" some bumper cutting will be in order, and I'm fine with that, but at the same time, I kinda like the look of "hidden" dumps......

Need some pics, or a video of it running to hear/see it to be able to judge one way or the other. In my book "dumps" are fine for a drag car..don't know if it necessarily goes too well with a luxury vehicle. Either way, up to you.

Now, to be clear, when I say dumps I mean turndowns after the mufflers, like they were stock, but to the point where you can't see them when looking directly behind the car. I'll take some pictures, maybe that will gauge better thoughts.

Ohhh I gotcha..I thought you meant you were going end the exhaust where the mufflers begin and put dumps there lol..I was going to say that would look pretty ghetto.

But I'd say just put some turn downs after the muffler..until you find yourself a 95/96 bumper with true cut outs..jagged edges on bumpers = no bueno IMO.

Here is a backside pic....

I had true dual with an x pipe no cats no resonators no mufflers and loved it. A bit drony but fack you can never get sick of that sound!

Definitley tips! And like zmt325 said, get the 95/96 bumper with the exhaust indentions so they look stock. Just my opinion, but I love to see a tasteful set of dual exhaust tips exiting below the bumper. And again, please dude, get some spacers for your wheels!:D It's painful to look at those pictures with the weels tucked way up inside the fenders like that.

I'll be ordering Flowtech's Warlock muffler, so when I want the wide open sound I can un-cap the bypass and raise hell.

I'm with you on this. I want the exhaust to have that stock look as well, and definitely don't want the car to look like a hackjob. As far as the wheels, I know they look horrible. There's already a half inch worth of spacers all the way around, I don't think the wheels themselves look bad on the car, but the way they are tucked in (especially the rears) do look half (OK, OK, FULLY) retarded.

After the exhaust is done, wheels are next on the list. This is a very very slow project for me, I try not to use much money out of my actual paycheck to fund this project, because we all know how carried away we can get on project cars, and let other things fall by the wayside.

I would just jump on eBay or craigslist and find some cheap snowflakes, painted 10 spokes or chrome 20s..all of those are cheap and looked WAAY better than those ls rims..if they were the correct back spacing or wide enough they'd be ok but ya..looks kinda goofy the way it is.
