Hello all. I contacted Siebon about oem style carbon fiber hoods for the ls. They have responded and said they would make a batch for our cars. They need a min of 20 orders and one hood. The price for the hoods are 700$. If you are interested let me know. Let's see if we can hit the 20 ppl mark. Thank you.

Considering the LS'es hood is aluminum I really don't see the benefit in doing an oem style hood. However if there was 1" cowl hood I would definitely be interested as long as it was done right.

What's the value here?

I'm pretty sure you can get a vinyl decal with the CF look for ~$50. Otherwise you need a $700 hood and a paint job to reduce 0.05% of the car's weight.

I'd be down for a 1-2" cowl as well. Nothing Mustang massive, just enough to provide a good Venturi effect to pull the heat out.

Guess no one here likes the look of cf. Scratch that Idea. Lol. And there is hood scoops out there u can throw on your hood. Imo look like crap.

IMO, considering how people seem to have COP issues due to water making under the hood from the cowl area the last thing I would do is have an opening on the top of the hood.

I don't think the cop issues are related to water at all.

Several members run mustang coils exposed with no issues. Think it's more related to the actual coils themselves. And yeah we would need a shaker style hood.

Agreed. If your VCG's go bad that's common but water not so much, unless you think it's a good idea to power wash under your hood. I've been lucky with mine and I've had to replace one in the past 30-40k miles since I've owned the car. Just don't replace them with AZ junk and it shouldn't be a constant battle with them imo.

Anyways, didn't the wide body, I think twin turbo'd LS, have a cowl hood? It was at least raised to fit all the plumbing from what I remember.

It's not that people don't like the look. It's the fact it's $700 IF you get 20 people, from LvC, to sign up for a production run. You need a bigger market than LvC. Also stock is aluminum and thats light already. If I had a black 06 I would love to have a carbon fiber hood and trunk with matching wheels

Yes it has a beautiful cowl hood on it.

Yeah it does.

Doesnt look over done or hooned/riced at all, just a nice subtle raise in the middle

instead of a cowl hood i would like to see some terminator style heat extractors.

I do not see this coming to fruition, but you should also check on what would need to be done to mount a carbon-fiber hood. It most likely would either have to be lift-off or a switch made to standard hinges and a prop-rod.

always wanted to do something like this... Guess it helps when you own a fiberglass shop like he does (iirc)
