Like the title said, but here is the story and yes it gets long winded.
2 weeks ago I agreed to purchase a rear lower valance from JVIP. As agreed, I transferred the funds($200) via Paypal on the agreed upon day. Due to the size of the box, I asked for a few extra days to figure out the most cost effective way to ship the item and would send those funds by Sat, 2/11. Prior to the agreed upon price, JVIP texted me and tried to jack the agreed upon price by $100. I told him that I would not spend that much and he then backed off and said the $200 was fine. That was warning flag number one. On 2/10/12 I found out that shipping by freight was going to be approximately $233 using UPS. I communicated my intent to try and immediately find a friend with a freight account and use their account in order to utilize some type of savings. JVIP "offered" to try and use his work account to ship it but feared that due to the measurements that it would raise a red flag as normal shipments are very small in nature. I thanked him for that offer but said that I did not want to get him in trouble at work. He then offered to allow me to leave the valance in his garage for 10 days as he was traveling to California on work related business. Due to the amount of shipping, I accepted his offer as it allowed extra time to make arrangements easy on the pockets.
Here is where the story gets shady....
I send JVIP a text Monday of this week to see if he would be able to drive the part to Providence(24 miles from his zipcode) and drop it off at Greyhound as I learned that Greyhound will take odd size boxes at a very good rate(comparatively speaking to UPS freight). The amount for shipping was $68.10. I also stated that I would include $35 to cover his gas. He first responded by saying that he was looking at a Wings West and Razzi rear lower and asked what my thoughts were about each. After giving my opinion, I then asked again later that evening if he was indeed able to assist with getting the part to Providence. Only then he responded that he indeed could.
Here is where the story gets DIRTY....
Yesterday morning, I get a text out of the blue from this guy stating that he was going "to refund my money because he just got off of a conference call where he got a job offer and did not know when he was returning to the east coast. Needless to say I was pissed because this came out of the blue and let's be real, who is on a conference call at approximately 5am Pacific Time. He then asked me to call him and gives me some BS story trying to support his BS. I asked if there was anyone who could access the house and he said no but then said in the same breath that shippers were going to have to go in to pack his things. So of course to myself I am thinking he is just backing out becuase A) he wants the rear valance for himself or B) He got an offer for more money. He then also proceeds to tell me that if he made it back to the east coast he would "send me the valance for free...shipping and all" since I was being so cool about the situation. I told him thank you for the offer but I would be willing to pay for what I want but if he did make it back that I would ask for him to eat half of the shipping. He said that would be fine and hung up the phone. Within 35 minutes my money was indeed refunded by Paypal.
Here is where JVIP has been busted and I hope I see Jeffrey Doxsee(JVIP)...
I tell Soop about what happened(via text) yesterday morning. Later in the afternoon I sent Soop a text and he agreed to send JVIP a text offering a high dollar amount for the valance. Soop chose $450 and I said go for it. Well guess what.....JVIP responds and says that he will be back in town March 5th and would do that deal with him then. I then waited a few hours and sent JVIP an text pretending that I was still interested. He responds that he would be back in town on March 5th. Today he sends me a text saying that perhaps we could split the cost of a freight pickup(which I said "sure" to). Well, Mr. Doxsee sent Soop a text about 35 minutes(today) ago saying that he would be back in Mass on Friday and was willing to ship asap.
In short, F*** JVIP. and his photography business listed all over the internet if you Google his name. J, without question, please shove that valance for every penny it is worth directly up your Bi**h ass.
