Like jcock I will refuse to post pics....well i wont refuse I just didn't take any I hated it so much and was equally as disappointed in the amount of excitement I had for this mod.

After getting the gloss black vinyl in and waiting and waiting I did it today...and guess what I can be the first to say..

GLOSS BLACK ROOF LOOKS LIKE COMPLETE ASS ON LIGHT PARCHMENT GREY...:(

I cant say I wasted the money or the time because in the end I tried it, it was fairly simple just didn't turn out right. I found that the cars color and the black just didn't contrast good enough to pull it off, the black over took way to much...This has convinced me that only white or semi dark colors can pull this off....

For me it just wasn't in the books.....I shall retreat in shame.,

Yeah, I think really only white cars with smaller roofs and dark tint look good with it. your photoshop looked sick though, did you try the hood and trunk too?

No, the contrast was way to much, looked way to busy with just the roof, maybe matte black would have been a better choice since its not as shiny,,,I agree white and smaller roofs is needed to pull this off....

Well without pics now the rest of us are forced to try it on our own.... Good lookin out...

Yeah thanks for shraing pics!!!!!!!!!!

I wanted to see this, I wouldnt do it to my ls, but just wanted a treat for my eyes.

pics or :bsflag:

lol just messing with you, pics would have been nice tho, especially since i'm one of the ones considering doing this!

Here's the scope of it..

For weeks I waited to do it, finally did it and it looked like complete shi t on the LPG..so yes it was a hissy fit of ripping it off..also the line towards the back of the car were the roof line is no longer defined looked like ass as you could see the small seam....

Its is what it is and its not a mod for the ls

I think it would look considerable better since you have white, and from everything I have seen white looks really good, but again the seam kinda looks lousy

So here are some pics for you..

Here's everything in the trash

a wad of it crumpled on the roof

Here is were you can see the contrast of the vinyl and the car, while it looks decent in small scale in large it was over taking

Here is the area of the seam that I did not like at all, when the raised edge of the cars panel fades, you can see the vinyl lip...

well, i guess lesson learned for next time... With not taking pics, we're forced to go off your opinion.... Which as you can imagine, no one wants to do.. Very cool you tried, just disappointing we cant see it... I Think with the right LS it'll still work.. AND YES IM STILL GOING TO TRY!!!

I am going to have to disagree to a point. I took this at the post office about 2 weeks ago. It was parked right beside my car. It may be that it looks "best" on a silver or white car and not necessarily on a small roof vehicle.

That's something I probably should have photoshopped first to see what it looked like. :P

Go to page either page 6,7, or 8(I think) of the thread on Driz and Jer's LSes and there is a photoshop of mine with the black top.

(Mission Control Voice)...Pshhhhh(static)....uh Houston we have a go on that appearance modification?

Roger?

:D

I would imagine the rear line might be difficult area to pull off... But you have to weight the pro's v con's on this type of "mod" and make a personal decision... clearly JVIP didn't care for it...

My intent is to have my installer trim it to fit the body line in question.

"HOUSTON... THATS A GO"

Gods speed to the rest of you... hopefully i dont go down in a big fire ball like JVIP's

from what I took from J (ALTHOUGH IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO SEE FOR MY SELF) is that "that" roof line disappears when the wrap goes on...

He probably effed it up and raged. Ruining the vinyl. Lol

That roof seam isn't too bad.

DO IT! I have thought about doing it myself for a while. Cant decide on gloss or matte black or carbon fiber look.
