I got my answer from a Ford dealership part guy. The part number F6LE-6A271-BB camshaft came stock in a 1998 Continental or Mark VIII which I what I thought and gathered from the internet. It is NOT a Cobra cam, which is what I kinda knew. I'm not starting an argument, but the 96-98 Cobra heads and Mark VIII heads are identical, the cams are only slightly different. F6ZE-6A271-AB Cobra cam is a .397 lift / 203@.050 cam while the F6LE-6A271-BB Lincoln cam is a .397 lift / 184@.050 cam. Nick over to modularheadshop has seen literally thousands of these cams, hundreds of heads, measured many many and can tell you about the differences better than me.
While I realize that an aftermarket compcam 268 cam is a .425 lift / 226@.050 cam and would be worth much more hp, they are also $1300 a set as opposed to the $150 I paid for the pair of cobra intake cams. This isn't the first cam upgrade I've done, but at $1300, THAT would be a first! lol
As for the FRPP cams, they are different too, I was just looking at those specs last night, but I'm not sure where I stuck that info.
It's ok, the seller contacted me today and can't believe he split up the sets like that and he's gonna make it right, so it's all good.
