I believe you! GT's are slow!lol do you like that 3800 stall? that was my next purchase.
 
As mine now shifts at 5,600 rpm's the boost is at 7psi. but when reved to around 6,200 rpm's it climbs to 8psi. I wouldn't even have gone that high with out the meth injection. Everything I've learned say its on the limit so I have no intent to try more. I'm a little scared to start reving it to 6,200 regularly. The maximum amount of boost would change with other types of superchargers (probably lower).

You'll love a 3800 stall.;) Mine is a Circle D and it is bulletproof so far. You should see a few tenths at least from the stall. Don't mess with anything under 3600. These cars need the low end torque. Go aggressive.

Ok, well that's good to hear. Thanks. I do have the IMRCs on my car and have considered deleting them but am unsure of the benefits at this point. The tune is an SCT mail-order chip from SCP and it's a piece of chit. I have sent the chip back like 5 times and it still isn't right. Before spring I want to hit the dyno, do the front suspension and go from there. Those are the necessary issues at this point.

That is not the proper question. Question should be "How much RWHP can the internals stand?" That answer is anywhere from 400-450 depending on what kind of forced induction you are using and the level of intercooling you have.
I have seen several 96-98 Cobras loose it around 450rwhp. Then they bend a rod or chip/melt a piston. They have MUCH less driveline loss as well.

That being said there are people running up to 500 rwhp on stock internals but they are on borrowed time. One missed shift, one second bouncing off the rev limiter and BOOM!

With 4.30 gears you no longer need the IMRC's for the low end torque so they are an airflow restriction. You gain some top end horsepower with the removal. I would suggest getting a Cobra intake along with the IMRC delete. I have the billet MMR deletes, really quality pieces but too expensive now that I look back at it. The one thing I should have done that I didn't have enough money for at the time is get the cobra intake runners shortned, people see 10-15rwhp with a good short runner intake. That's over the stock Cobra intake...With a short runner Cobra intake with IMRC's deleted you should see 20-25rwhp over the stock Mark VIII manifold. You will need to get it tuned after.
 
I have UDP's on my 'Bird, and had charging probs at night.

Installing a Powermaster 114 alternator pulley (1.93") solved my problem (brings RPM of alternator pretty close to stock, just SLIGHTLY slower).

If that doesn't solve your problems, buy a March 110 pulley (1.625"). That will make your alternator turn slightly faster than stock with a 5" underdrive crank pulley.

Im just gonna go ahead and disagree here.


Gears or not you will loose low end TQ with their removal. Its been covered over and over and over and over on SVTP and Stangnet. On a relativly stock NA motor they are not a flow restriction. The heads can already flow more through the opening of the IMRCs then the motor needs or wants.

As for the short runner/no IMRC Cobra plenum making more HP. It sure does! ABOVE 5000 RPM. Not 25 rwhp though, closer to 12rwhp (about 18 at the crank) and at the cost of 20-25hp in the midrange/lower end.
Will it make the car faster? Prolly on the track where you stay in the upper RPM range but it will hurt street performance.
 
I've heard of the short runner Cobra intake only really making a difference in supercharged and nitrous applications.
 
So where is this video of a camaro getting beat. I just don't see this going down unless the guy didn't know they were racing or can't drive. 11 ss runs 12s, so if the OP beat him, he would have the fastest NA Mark. I mean the guy doesn't even have a stall converter. Look at Drillers car he runs what 12.9. And he has a stroker motor with every bolt on. I am not gonna believe that a slow gen2 with a tune and some gears is runnin in the 12s. This is like the LS guy that says he stompped a 300c.
 
There is a kid with a gen2 with 4.10s and a tune where I am at and I had him at my back bumper from 20mph and continued to walk away all the way to 90mph. Oh and I was in my 300c. I also had my doors blown off by my buddies dad in his 11 ss camaro in my 300c. V6 is more evenly matched to this guys gen2.

EXACTLY. And we're talking about street racing, not official passes at a track. When I'm at 70 mph, I'm not even half way down the track. Keep in mind, if these two cars lined up if you want to say you're faster than a Camaro, it only counts if you can keep past him for 1320 ft. not 600 ft. :)
 
I was reading Don's post on my phone. Didn't see that the camaro he ran wasn't stock. Still the new SS runs in 13.3 range. You KS with all your mods runs a 13.5. Do you think if you took away your stall you would be able to hang with a new SS. I say OP is full of it and joined under another name to back up his BS. No gen 2 is gonna hang with a 11 SS camaro from a dig to 70mph. The OPs car probably traps at 97mph. So that would mean that he could hang with the camaro for three quarters of the track if they were at one. BULLCHIT.

If the Camaro driver can drive, the Gen2 will lose every time. My guess is the OP runs low 14s which isn't cutting it up against a Camaro. The Camaro is trapping at well over 100 mph which also means that he is getting to 70 mph a lot quicker. Street racing is street racing though and there is too many variables, but at the track the OP would lose to the Camaro every time. I can bet money on that. One lucky street race doesn't mean the Lincoln is faster.
 
Just re-read that he took him off the line. Had to be a v6 or he roasted the tires til they hooked at 70mph. My buddys pops 11 SS has shamed quite a few cars. My brothers built 96 SS camaro, my 300c and 10 GT mustang. The only thing I have seen beat it was as 09 GT500.

there are too many variables. with the driver mod being most important.
if the other guy can't drive...

I remember some snooty chick waxing me in her Acura TL when I was bone stock. Gawd I was pissed. I even had muffler deletes so that I sounded bad ass and I just got embarassed LOL

I've seen quite a few SS's roast the rears tires on take off. Maybe he lucked out ?? I doubt if we will see a video though.
