rims and tires

a mistake? how many wheels have they bent then? i'll bet its none..

also, did you know...
275/40/17 and 275/40/18 tires have the EXACT same amount of sidewall? so do 245/45/17 and 245/45/18s. and 305/35/17 and 305/35/18s. 4.3 inches to be exact. even the 35 series has the 4 inches. the low second number doesn't necessarily make it low profile.

more than enough. just don't run over a freaking brick and you won't have any problems.

thats what they said.. and i actually didn't know that thanks for filling me in on that, now i know a little more :D i can't argue with them about it anymore, i just looked and temple performance has the 280R's only in 18, FML i never saw only 18 there. where am i supposed to get 280R's from if SCP is crap, but the only place that has 17'' 280r's. thats what i was thinking in my head, im so aware of potholes now just being a passenger. idk what to do. i want to get those 16s and vogues off, imo they are classy and for older people not a teen, although they look nice, i want a nice set of 17s or 18s.. they won't budge, this really blows... would i be okay getting the 280R's from SCP or don't even bother? i don't know of another place that has them in 17's. what luck im having this past week, can't get the rims i want, my computer broke. let's see what else can go wrong! fml lol.

Merry Christmas, i am sick today was bored and found some cheap alternatives.

I do not know what cities are close to you but if you search jaguar rims, jaguar wheels, lincoln wheels and lincoln rims you can find them. the ones on my car came off an ls. some of the newer jags have the same pattern/offset.

these parts of ny and jersey are probably 20 mins- 2 hours away give or take. thanks for posting them i appreciate it. would i be safe getting the 17'' cobra R's from SCP? if not ill just stick with these 16s and vogues till the rims get crappy and need replacing, or see if i could possibly do a hub swap idk. thanks ford for the crappy off bolt pattern, sneaky mofos lol.

you think they would look good if i paint my calipers red? i like these rims, would probably be able to do 245/40/17 all around. ill call them up again.

i called up a guy, got a dude named Grant, extension # is 735 he helped me. im gonna be different, not getting cobras. gonna run these borbet LV5's with continental extreme contact DWS , front and rear tire size: 245/50/17 -- he said thats the biggest tire you can slap on those rims because they aren't 17x8 or 17x9, if they were 17x9 i'd get 255/45/17 front, 275/40/17 rear- i actually really like these rims, kinda like a matte black finish which looks nice imo, i have left over brake caliper paint which i can do aswell, i think it'll look sick. the tires aren't going to look that low of a profile, which i really don't mind. i will be saving up and getting these, now i don't have to go nuts about trying to get the cobras or the speedstars.

just did the pricing, for the tires and rims, $1,324 w/o shipping, rims from SCP(17'' cobras) were $880 w/o shipping!! then plus tires i was looking at almost 2 grand for rims and tires.. im glad i called tire rack up and they helped me out.

Good to hear! I was looking at those wheels, with some Yokohama AVID ENVigor V rated tires. Looks like a decent all around all season tire. We sell quite a few of them at work, and customers seem to be happy with them. Mine, wheels and tires came to $1293.39.

and you getting them in 17 or 16? i looked at those tires you found and read reviews, they are pretty good all seasons, good dry traction, low road noise is a must for me. i like the ride of the contis though, i've been riding in a car with those for like 1.5 years and they ride great. i saw they have those yoko's in 225/55/17, im going with the wider tires though, i don't like how 225 looks from the back and side, looks like it doesn't fill the wheel well up good, good luck with your buy, i can't wait to get those rims.

I was looking at them in 17s. I don't really want to go to an 18, and I want something a tad bigger then stock. With TireRack, those are direct bolt on's obviously, but the offsets, etc, are all good? I have no idea what those numbers should look like for these cars....

Right on.... hopefully everything works out. I gotta wait for tax time, so that should help out a bit.

yeah hopefully, well I gotta wait awhile so I can save up all that money, let me know if they workout for you

you could hub swap and pick up a set of mustang bolt pattern wheels used (maybe even with tires already) for less than a grand. i did.

I'm confused here, is there a way to reuse my calipers after doing a hub swap? I can't afford the wheels tires annnd a brake kit. How about which rotors I'd use? Would I just have a machine shop drill my rotors?
The next set of rotors I'd plan to buy would be the larger cobra, baer or brembo ones I've seen on here.
I'd like the 2 piece that wilwood sells, and I love their drop in brake pads, but they're all so expensive.

is there a way to reuse my calipers after doing a hub swap?

yes.

How about which rotors I'd use?

stock.

Would I just have a machine shop drill my rotors

yes. or do it yourself. it isn't terribly difficult and accuracy isn't crucial because they are centered on the hubs, not the lugs.
i just slotted the stock holes slightly. we're only talking a 1/4 inch.

several people run stock brakes and are hub swapped.

Goodluck getting rims from that guy ive been waiting on my saleen stars for 4 months still in china. WTF. My brand new tires sitting in the garage gonna be dry rotted by the time the rims get into the US. I gave up and am getting all the parts i need for hub swap. Good luck

final decision has been made, i've talked to Bill over at SCP. Im getting the 280'R Cobras, in 17''. These are the links of the rims and tires i've picked.
