rims and tires

lmao, who else got 17 inch cobra Rs for mark viiis? I only see scp, with shipping its gonna be like a grand just for rims....

you could hub swap and pick up a set of mustang bolt pattern wheels used (maybe even with tires already) for less than a grand. i did.

what are the stock chrome 16s on dRock's mark 8 called? I think a black gen 1 looks clean with them, just dunno what the name of the are

chrome directional 10 spokes

thank you! they look a lot cleaner then the 20 spoke directionals, especially on a black gen 1. might look into getting a set of those and regular tires?

it might be a hell of a lot cheaper to get those 10 spokes with some regular tires then go an spend a grand on rims, then another 400-600 for tires plus shipping. i think i just might do that, keep the white walls and 20 spokes on for winter, and get nice 10 spokes with regular tires for the nice weather. i can always get cobra rims when im older and have money to replace rims

10 spokes are the best looking stock wheel by far IMHO. The problem is a clean set is going to cost you BIG. they are getting harder and harder to find.

yeah they will be, and yeah i was just googling and on ebay for an hour, nothing..... this blows!! looks like cobras will be my only resort lmao. i like cobras, but they're not cheap and neither are the tires i want, almost 700 for the tires, 880 for the rims w/o shipping from SCP, i emailed templeperformancecars.com to see how much shipping would be to 10314, they have the rims for 210 a piece, so 840 w/o shipping which helps a bit.

i guess there's something im missing, but thanks for the heads up, if templeperformance has a good shipping price ill get it from them, or just get a set of borbet LV5's from tire rack

several members have had problems with Bill at SCP, his return policies, failure to honor warranties, and the substandard parts he sells. he reputation here suggests he does bad business.

Forget all the bullchit that he has done. One of my biggest reasons for not foxing with him is almost everything he sells can be had cheaper elsewhere.

and thats true, i compared this prices on rims to other sites, all the others are cheaper....

97markJA, were you trying to point out the 280R's on that site? they are 18s, which i can't get :( thanks though. i called them up earlier today to ask about the speedstars and other stuff, very nice and helpful people.

SCP sells spring isolators for like 60 bones and they retail for 20. That right tells me he is a greedy bastard and 95 the Saleens don't come in 17s. 18s are where its at anyway. Tell your parents that your getting 18s and to go to their room.

Yeah, Brad from tcws is a great guy. I've never bought from him but he was more then willing to help me with some issues I had a while back. He'll be the first I call If I ever bite the bullet on a new set of wheels.

lmao if i said that i'd get kicked out! haha. i know 18s are where its at, im a teenager and big rims are the only rims i want lol. don't want stupid big like 20s or 22'' dubs, but 17 or 18. hopefully i get some $$$ for xmas and my birthday, definately need a lot more to get those cobras. i know the saleens don't come in 17, if they did i woulda got them already

One inch really gets your folks panties in a bunch? What the hells the difference to them anyways. I would divorce or fire them, which ever applies.

You could always do a hub swap and get some oem take offs.
Laser posted a link in one of his threads a while back. You would be limited to current production wheels as take offs but a ton of aftermarket wheels in the 4.5 bolt pattern.
Yeah I was pointing you to the 280r. Didn't see you couldn't go 18s

yeah i guess it does lol. they say that they both have 18s on their cars and it was a mistake, they don't want me "bending or scraping up the rims" because im bound to hit a pothole, believe me i even argued the point that the saleen speedstars in chrome 18'' from the custom wheel shop.com are cheaper than the 280R's from the original place i was going to get the rims from SCP until you guys warned me about him, and the 280R's are 17 and more expensive. the customwheelshop has them for 210 a rim plus free shipping, so the hundred or more it would cost in shipping and the extra 40 i would save because they are 10, thats almost enough for a spare rim if i needed one. im dying to get the chrome speedstars, the 280R's will look nice, but the saleens are sick! they say they don't want me making the same mistake :P and the tire sizes i was gonna get was 255/45/18 up front, 275/40/18 rear, under /40/ is when the tires are really low profile which makes it hell of a lot easier to bend one. there's nothing i can do about it :( so i will be getting 17'' 280'Rs from temple performance and the rubber its gonna be wrapped in is - contintenal extreme contact DWS- front 255/45/17, rear 275/40/17, and some red calipers.

a mistake? how many wheels have they bent then? i'll bet its none..

also, did you know...
275/40/17 and 275/40/18 tires have the EXACT same amount of sidewall? so do 245/45/17 and 245/45/18s. and 305/35/17 and 305/35/18s. 4.3 inches to be exact. even the 35 series has the 4 inches. the low second number doesn't necessarily make it low profile.

more than enough. just don't run over a freaking brick and you won't have any problems.
