2000 ls no heat

Wifes car now has little to no heat. Engine temp is normal , not cool ..........Thermostat is new ( replaced to cure overheat problem this summer ). System was bled correctly and has been running fine since end of summer ( when t stat was replaced ).

Any suggestions appreciated........ V8 Car.

BTW what and where is the AC filter and how does that differ from the cabin air filter at firewall?
 
AC filter & cabin air filter are one and the same.
When was your last coolant flush?
Is your coolant level correct?
Your DCCV may be stuck closed.
Your aux pump may have failed.
Your cold air bypass door could be stuck in the closed position.

I'm going to quote this since you all covered similar answers.

Last coolant flush...........probably 2 years ago ( approx ).

I'm assuming the Dccv is a dual coolant control valve ? and if so is this a relatively easy replacement ( is there a test? )
I was not aware there is an auxillary pump and I'm not sure I understand why there even has to be one??
If the cold air bypass door is stuck in the open position is there a manual test or way to access the door?I'm assuming you can hear the door move when you push buttons on panel if this is a valid test I'll listen for movement.............I do believe I've heard them ( or it ) move before.........
The fan does blow as normal and at times you can feel a little warm air but it lasts briefly.
I'll check coolant level again. Someone suggested the filter ( dirty ) but I cant see that causing any of this.
Lots of questions I know but I also know I'm not unique with this problem........
Any help is greatly appreciated because I'd much rather fix this myself if possible.

The filter is a factor because it could stop air flow. No airflow = no heat.
Feel/listen to the aux pump to see if it is running. The way coolant flows on the V8 requires the aux pump to circulate it to the heater core. Without the aux pump working, you'll only get heat at higher RPMs.
Search on here for the instructions to enter DATC diagnostic mode for gen I. That should tell you if there is any issue with the cold-air bypass door.

I'm having the same issue. I can build little to no heat in the cab when it is sitting in the driveway or stopped for long periods of time. The coolant temperature is fine. I was leaning towards the DCCV but, from what I have read, most of them stick open. I will have to check out the auxilary pump, as maybe that's my issue. I still don't have the full on heat while going down the road either though.
