Waterpump Now! No Freaking Way

I can not believe the problems I'm having with the LS here lately!!!

I get out of work and there is a puddle of water under the bumper. I start the car and it sounds like a can of marbles being shook sort of. Well, I got home after filling up with water and find that the water is leaking from the shaft on the pump. I was able to get another pump from autozone, the Duralast brand. I'm nervous to drive this thing anymore. :shifty:

That sucks !! I'm sure I will have the same fate something is bound to go wrong after I get done reinstalling everything tonight.

Funny thing I've been driving my sister's 04 LS8 and today it was cold outside so I turn the heat on and just cold air and the temp guage starting rising, I floored it and boom warm air. POS bled it and praying it stays ok or else everyone in my family will think I'm bad luck.

It's actually not a Lincoln problem. I forgot to mention I replaced the waterpump about 2 1/2 years ago, but I can't remember the brand, not Duralast though. Just everything here screwing up lately Lincoln or not is getting really old.

Crazy. I was still on my original water pump at 207,000 miles. Original alternator as well. Hope things settle down for you.

Yeah, hopefully. It's fixed and back on the road now.

I will say that the water pump on the LS is got to be the easiest to change. Remove the intake tube and the belt, the three 8mm bolts on the pulley and then the 5 8mm bolts on the pump and it's out. Took about 35-40 minutes to change. No water hoses or anything else to remove.

oh man, look how dirty it is. my dad always told me if i took care of my vehicles they will take care of me. so i cleaned it as often as i could and a full detail once a month or so and ive never had anything wrong. shes going to be pretty upset i left her for a year so i expect a few problems when i get back.

It's posts like these that reaffirm my decision to buy an '06. Man there seems to be a lot of quirks in the Gen1's. I guess I will have to wait another 50K to see what blows up on mine (I hope!).

It's usually pretty clean, but we've had some good rain and a little snow and my parents live on a dirt road that I have to take to drop my daughter off in the morning before work. Plus, this car gets tons of attention and maintence LoL, It's a never ending battle it seems sometimes.
