Funny thing today. I'm driving along with the music up and pull into StarBucks's to get a drink. As I pull into the parking lot everybody who is sitting outside is looking at me drive in. Not to sound pridefull, but I thought at first everyone was just admiring the LS.;) I turn the stero off and instantly hear the loudest metallic squalling sound you can imagine coming from under the hood! (I see why they were looking LoL) I park and pop the hood and can't see anything but it sounds like a idler pulley is about to seize up! At first I'm thinking "Oh great, I just hit 190K and now something is really up."

I get the light out and start looking around and see at the bottom that the sway bar bracket had totally broken and was riding the alternator pulley! thank God it was nothing crazy, but I'm concerned why the sway bar bracket broke. I generally do not take high speed sharp turns or anything.

You can see in the upper part of the pic the riding condition. Guess I know what I'll be doing this weekend.

Woah.... That is definitely weird.

It looks like you have non OEM bushings too?

Yes, they are. I bent the bracket back so I could drive to work. What is interesting is that when I drove to work this morning I hardly had any vibration in the steering wheel, probably 90% less.

EDIT: scratch that, it vibrates like it always did, must have been a fluke that time.

lmao you wish!! bet you felt special didn't you? :)

That is weird though, at least it wasn't anything major.

my sway bar brackets might be in this danger as well. but I can hear it coming, did you?

we're those lock nuts? maybe I really shouldn't have re-used them.

Actually last weekend, I think Sunday, I made a left on to my parents street and when I did a heard a "pop" from the front end. I think that may be when it actually broke but it took some time for the bracket to work its way around to the pulley. I'll try to get that bracket out today and snap a pic when I change my ball joints.
