My new toy, 1995 sierra

Wonder what the chances of cutting a scab out of a donor truck bed in the junkyard is and welding it back over the hole there. Then you just have a weld seam to deal with, which could be hidden easily enough.

It would suck to have to scrap the old bed or have some kludged up sheet metal patchwork.

There's got to be a hole in the cab, too.

Alex, you have some work to do! You need to keep the tonneau cover on to keep water out of the cab.

Yeah, but no one really looks in the back of the cab. Everyone will be looking in the bed, and it would just look bad if you saw a big metal patch. I would just weld and paint a patch over the cab.

Probably be easier to take the bed off and weld it from the other side as far as finish goes.

Wait... What are all of those cylinder things?

Noway those were tons of capacitors...?

Yeah those are caps. One it had 10 per side.

Well I was thinking of putting just one sub ported into the cabin and cover the whole with some of the leftover wood that was carpeted blue from the sub box.

I already covered it for now using that leftover wood just so the hole isn't an eye sore. It cleans it up a lot over just the hole.

Yeah, I have a lot of work to do. Thanks for teaching me a new word, had no idea the cover was called a tonneau cover. The cover will stay on and is now opened with the actuators.

A lot of work goes into a blowthrough. I'd keep it, and run a single (or double) 12" setup. DC Audio ftmfw.

Let me know about the stuff you are getting rid of. I may want to buy something.

Everything is going except for the 250m's, one 500m and one sub. I am keeping it and running one of the alpines in a ported box. I was thinking about getting a DC but since I already have so many alpine laying around, I thought I would try one out then maybe get a dc if I didn't like it. I have read they were real good subs so there is a good chance I will like it. Plus I'm not an audio guy so an alright sub to you guys will probably sound great to me.

One of those subs prolly wont sound too bad but i would just go ahead and get a new competition sub and new amp and wiring to go with it.

Subs have changed a lot in even just the past 10 years. Those have tiny coils and magnets.

True, but I don't have much of a mod fund right now so just installing a sub is a lot cheaper then buying some to install. I probably will get a dc later on when I sell all this stuff.

So I took off the spoiler.

Thats actually a really creative spot for a radar detector, I feel sorry for your uncle he really did alot of work and no matter how ugly it was he did correctly and did it very clean back in the day it was most likely the $%it of its era.

Yeah a lot of work was put into it, A LOT!!!!! I did feel bad tearing up the system out, taking it off made me see how much work went into it. That thing was solid, great work there, but it had to come out.

I'm not feeling the truck. The paint looks ugly but all in all the truck looks like its in real good condition. Looks a lil better without all that crap on & that horrible spoiler. If it was a solid color(thinking black) & switch the wheels it would look decent.
