Cant find DCCV

just gotta remove the upper radiator hose, and the dccv is right under it, just a few bolts and it comes off.

Good luck!

Hell of a find!!! Just ordered one myself. Have been needing it since last winter but the car finally showed signs of blowing heat with the ac on about 3 weeks ago. Only did it once but I knew what was going on when it happened.

Thanks again.

Is that for Gen 1 also?

It varies somewhat by generation and if it's a V6 or V8. In any event, there's not that much to it.

Drain coolant
Remove whatever is in the way. (Top hose, aux cooling pump, ...)
Replace DCCV.
Reinstall whatever you moved out of the way.
Refill coolant.
Bleed air from cooling system.

I just got my 46.00 dollar (w/free shipping) DCCV part from partstrain.com and it looks just like the one in the LS and just like the motorcraft part thats normally on sale for 135.00 in amazon. For that price you can buy a couple and just save them as backups. I was so happy to find it at that price as I have been holding on buying it as I have a 87 jeep wrangler that i have been investing in.

Mine arrived today. Cali to Ohio in 2 days. I am impressed since free shipping usually means slow shipping. LOL.

I know partstrain got it to me in 2 days. thats fast for free shipping. Good luck changing it out its a PITA. I just did mine took my 3 hours.

Mine is going to be part of an engine swap (new long block) so everything is going to be out anyway. Perfect time to do it and get it over with. :D

unfortunately still waiting on my parts but no problem i ordered them thursday. im just an impatient mf

 That's pretty much it, too. :D

Just replaced the DCCV, and the Upper Radiator Hose last night, and my climate control works perfectly now!

The only problem i had was trying to find the coolant bleeder i still dont know where the hell it is, the only thing i was able to find was the heater bleeder because that was in plain view next to the brake fluid reservoir

Good to hear. Even though I bought one, I slightly wondered if the good deal was too good of a deal. LOL

That's the only air bleed on the gen II V8.
If you're talking about the radiator drain, it's there at the bottom of the radiator.

ok cool, through the tech articles it shows a second bleeder, i thought that was wrong.

You might be looking at the V6 diagrams. The tech articles have the V8 and V6 procedures mashed together, so just do the portions pertaining to the V8.

You were correct though - the bleeder by the brake booster is the only one you need to worry about.
