Well some of you may remember a while ago my cousin coming to me about buying her viii. Well she's at it again....

It's got 130k, blk on blk 97 lsc w/tint..Paints in good cond, air susp works, hids and neon aswell. New starter and batt in jan of 10'. She moved and has no need for it on the east coast.
The blend door actuator is busted(did my red one already). a/c needs recharging(hope its nothing serious).Afaik the heat went out the winter before she moved. Not sure about the a/c.That's all the "bad" that she told minus normal wear n tear.

Only thing i'm concerned about is if theres rust..And if so how much and where. Since the only time I saw it was at a funeral i wasn't able to throw a jack under it and perform my 248 point inspection. I hope to get it for 1250-1500.

Just making a thread to see if you guys would do it..Finacially I can afford it while still having some money to play around with.. Remember I just started working again 4-5 months back......

I'm really just looking for you guys to help convince me...:)

Another option is to flip it or if it's in better shape then mine (unlikely) keep it and sell mine..Or keep both..All depends if I fall in love with the air ride again and the fact that its a b on b..

I'd say go for it! From that picture, it doesn't look bad at all. Sometimes taking the "chance" is half the fun.

IMO, it's a no brainer. You have the cash, you won't need it for a DD, and from the pic, it looks good. Buy it and have fun fixing it. This is coming from someone that has four Marks!! GO FOR IT!!

I'll help solve your problem for you... Just get your cousin to sell it to me (for my son actually). :D

Seriously.

Her car will go to a good home, I can pay you a reasonable finders fee, my son will have a Gen 2 to (almost) match my Gen 1, and I've been wanting to add a Gen 2 to the family anyway.

Win/win/win situation.

Buy it, fix it flip it. If it is in good condition it is a no brainer.

where is she located on the east coast?

She's on the east, cars about 2 hours from me.

I'd like to fix the bd and charge up the ac, clean it up and sell it for double what i payed...Seems the majority of you guys suggest going that route.

I just got a feeling i'd end up keeping it for a nice 2nd mark. Just waiting for her to get back to me.

A black LSC is an easy sell. Even in this market you should easily be able to double your money within a month. Now if there is significant rust then that is another story.

Assuming I buy it in the next month or 2, spend the winter fixing everything at my leisure and making it look fantastic, is 3500 out of the question come spring?

She hasn't and prob won't list it fs as she's far away and can't deal with the papers and everything that goes into selling it pp. So i'm not really in a rush to get it as it ain't going anywhere.... And since i'm a relative it's the easiest way to go.

So is 3500 out of the question? To high/low for what will be a nice b on b lsc with good mileage for year?. I realize most of us including myself prob wouldn't but to joe shmo?
