So, everyone knows you can get the front's from StopTech for around $100. But the rears on the Gen2 are different then a Gen1. So I went off in search of getting some custom lines done for the rears.
What I did was bought a set of replacement brake lines and took them to a local hydraulic shop that does tons of custom line assemblies for the tuner shops around here. I told them to replace the rubber hose with SS hose and retain the stock fittings except for the front caliper end (told them to just use a regular banjo fitting there). What they are doing is cutting the old swedge fitting off, welding on a new fitting, and will then replace the rubber with stainless. They've done this before and the results have always turned out nice. Plus if you wanted a little extra length in the line or something else custom you can do that too.
Bottom line, it cost me $35 to convert each rear line and $30 to convert each front line. Total cost with new lines and conversion was $218 for all 4 corners or $46 each for front and $57 for each rear. You could probably get it all done cheaper is you started with used stock lines but I would have had to go without a car for that to happen. Plus the cost of new lines was only $80 and it just wasn't worth it to me go go cheap. Plus if you have really corroded nasty fittings the weld won't be good.
I'll take some pics once I get the lines back so you can see the result. If anyone is interested in getting this done let me know, I can set the deal up for you. Here's the brake lines I ordered from rock auto for reference:
Doorman H620508
Doorman H620509
Doorman H620510
Doorman H620511
Hopefully this helps anyone looking for rear SS brake lines on a Gen2 in the future
