Anyone have one installed? Was just reading an article on stolen cars and it was brought up.

I was going to wire one in a couple years ago but never completed the project(installed the toggle, thats it, lol). I have a diagram i made at home that iirc involved tapping into a fuse or something in the fuse box that controlled fuel/ignition.

Then i figured out that if i feel the car is threatened i can always pop the trunk and push in/out the inertia switch. Luckily I dont live in a high or even moderate crime area so the chances of me using a kill switch are slim. The only time i'd use it is maybe at a busy mall(which i rarely ever go to) or the city.

Thoughts?
 
Both my '94 and '97 are wired with anti-start switches.

The switches are located in the same location in each car
so when my wife drives either one, she knows where it is.

We live in a good neighborhood but you never know....
It comes in handy from time to time.
 
in manitoba, by law you have to have an immobilizer installed on your vehicle or else you cannot get insurance. they pay for it of course. its just a little sensor you wave over a light and it lets you start. dun have the sensor, you dont go anywhere!
 
i do, mine is built into my headlights, for some reason, if i leave my lights on, cant start the car
 
Mine does double duty by keeping T'Gters at bay.

We get alot of juveniles out of HS with little to no behind the wheel training
around here. Scary isn't it?

Some think they're all badass in their sisters' cavaliermetroneon and their
hondawhateverZ24's. I also get my share of justinbeemer maniacs
around here.

Pisses the he!! out of me when they ride you like that.

I am more of a sane driver now since putting the switch in.

Did I tell you it does double duty?
 
I have allways wanted flamethrowers just for tailgaters

i think if i had a cut off switch i would put it in line with the fuel shut off that is in the trunk. that way i can hear them attempt it and have enough time to grab two clips and my 45.
 
I had a truck with a dead transmission stolen while it sat in a parking lot broken down. Wasn't even in a bad area or at all hidden, but I know why it happened, it was unlocked, tagless, and it was an ideal truck to take for parts. Doesn't help that since I just bought it, for all intents it seemed abandoned. I personally don't think anyone will steal my car regardless of PATS or a Killswitch, because it is old, in only average condition, and unpopular, which coincidently makes it an unlikely rape victim as well, so no anti-rape whistle on the mod list either. I'm more worried about theft of what I keep in it when it's sitting there since I live in a pretty crap area.
 
i have a black jax kill switch on my car. Its made by Clifford/viper.

I have to enter a code on a hidden key pad under my steering column or my car wont start

Also if one of the doors is opened while the engine is running I have to enter my code again or the black jax will kill the engine after about 600 feet. That way if someone put a gun to my head and pulled me out of my car, it would stop a safe distance away.

its cheap too, its only 225 installed. its a great way to protect your investment.
 
Laser and I both want a theft system of that sort, but one that also shoots tazers out of the steering wheel

my idea was to rig the heated seats, to where the heating element could withstand being amplified for scorching heat, but not damage the actual seat, just make it to where the seat was too hot to sit in :) we're just morbid like that

i saw a long time ago, a theft system that had flame sprayers under the driver door, wish a snare of that sort was legal in the states... so much for FREEDOM (what the hell did i go to war for again?)
