Is there something I am missing here? I have never seen such a hard to find bumper (rear) for a car in my life.

I have an 03 LS V8. Aftermarket is NON-existent and it seems the only route is genuine Ford parts and I don't even know if they are available there ( I would assume they are)

But what the hell is the deal here? Ebay has enough gen 1 rear bumpers to give everyone here one and then some.

Aftermarket on Gen 1 is EVERYWHERE. Gen2, is like trying to find unicorn teeth.

There are two gen 2 on ebay where one is $400 and the dude quoted me $175 for shipping. Is this the best I can do? Another is on the bay with sensor holes, again something I don't have.

While I don't have a bumper for you or anything of value to add to this thread, I do have a couple of Unicorn teeth available for sale. :)

Sweet thanks!

I just want to sell this car.. I huge crack in the bumper is not a good thing as a selling point.

Oh well. I know I need to probably just grab a ford one just wondering why such a difference.

Trust me you can get it from Ford, it going to cost you though. There are not really no so call aftermarket stock bumpers made for these cars. I would say check craigslist in your local area and see what you come up with. Try TeamFordparts.com or Tascaparts.com. There is another source name bumperwholesale.com but rumor has it they don't respond to emails and nobody knows if they are legit or not. I actually sent them an email a few days ago about a rear bumper and haven't heard anything from them.

Here try 401-334-2000 I have had a lot of luck with them for stuff. Let me know how you make out

I tried to work with Wholesalebumpers.com Actually pretty decent guy. Ordered one and it said will ship in two days. and two days went by called him again and he said another two days. The dude finally reasoned with me and said they are on B.O. and had NO idea when they were coming in. Ended up giving me a refund on Monday.

And this leads me to another question, Painted/Chrome, they are the same correct? I would have to think they are the same pieces.

I don't think they're the same... Non-sport should have a recessed area where the chrome strip mounts. At least I think it should - I have the Sport so I can't say for sure

The chrome bumper came on the non sport version of the LS. The painted bumpers without the chrome came on the sport version. If you don't have chrome bumpers on your car now then you don't want to get that bumper. Judging from the pic in your avatar, you don't have chrome on your front bumper so you should have a sport model LS.

Oh well, that would have been a good lead. I was told at one time that they were the same bumper as I believe my painted inserts also pop out. NO I have no chrome, I believe I have the "premium sport" or that's what the window sticker said.

Agreed. That's why i said I wasn't sure if it would help or not. I figured if he was selling the car he might not care.... it would look something like this:

The one that is 400 is not far from my place (If it is Lapoint out of Holland, Ohio). I am sure I can ship it to you much cheaper of you are looking to find a cheaper way to ship it

Sorry but I have to ask the stupid question. But have you tried a body shop to see if it can be fixed? Might be cheaper.

I am pretty sure it cannot be fixed... Cold weather, it shattered. So if you want to buy an 03 with a hole in the bumper @ 65,000 miles, let me know!! LOL...

I may have to look into that. I price checked one of the internet sites listed above though and I am going to see if they have any in stock on monday.

call my buddy phil at LKQ, he will hook you up with a used one for a good price, just let him know Chris sent you. I dont really want to post his number publicly, so pm me if you are interested.

Do you have an auto bumper exchange business close? I'd try them if you do. The few times I've called the one near me the price has been reasonable and the service was good.
