Anyone ever cut down the lower mount of a rear bag on a sensor lowered Mark?

Thinking that doing that would allow for more pressure in the bag, and less bounce/rebound over bumps for those of us running wide rims/tires....

A sensor lowered Mark has less air pressure in the bags as compared to normal ride height according to the gauge I have hooked up. Approx 25 to 30lbs less, and I can feel the difference in ride quality.

If it's possible to take say an inch off the lower bag mount (either by cutting or maybe a new UMHW custom mount), it would raise the pressure in the bag back near a non lowered Mark, firming the ride.

Just spit balling here...
 
Eddie doesn't recommend any lower than 1.5-2.0" as you run out of camber adjustment. Unless you get dropped spindles.
 
Now I'm going huh?

I'm not trying to go more then 2", just firm up the ride out back...
 
Did this mod on my Mark last year.

Got frustrated by the oscillation you encounter with a lowered Mark. And if you have wider aftermarket wheels, you know the kind of damaging quarter panel tire rub that occurs with a low pressure air bladder.


I was following the my car on the freeway in the Crossfire while my wife drove the Mark. From the back, the car just looked like it didn't have any shocks. This is what all other motorist were seeing when following me on the interstate.


After the mod, the sensor lowered car drove as it should, like it was before I sensor lowered it. The ride was firmer, control was smoother, response was better. Overall it was wallet friendly by not having to purchase Bilsteins. It has that WAF department stamp of approval.

Great news is, there are no issues since the mod. One of the best mods I could have done to preserve the Lincoln ride quality .

Sounds simple and worth doing, very interested.
You following your car reminds me of what I saw last night.

I saw a lowered late 80's cutlass on 19's on the freeway last night.
It was going 50 mph in the slow lane bouncing like a basketball.

I pulled even with it and saw a guy in his 20s trying to text when driving that death trap.
I had a good chuckle and canned it to get away from him.
