I have a few things plaguing my 2000 LS V8 Sport, just wanted some info if I can get it. Did a search and found some fragmented info but nothing really decisive on any of these issues:

1. Traction control, ABS light on (still). Wheel sensor? Any way to tell if its in the front or rear? Any pics of what to look for when I get the wheels off?

2. Pass side door handle broke off. Any tips on replacement?

3. Pass side front window made clunking noise, rolled up but not easily. Once I got it back up I haven't put it down

4. Headlights come on/stay on day or night in the auto position. I know there is a sensor and read some stuff about working on it a while back but cannot find it now.

Thanks in advance.

4) the sensor is located along with the PATS light in the center of the dash close to the windshield (little red light that blinks when the car is locked) maybe its unplugged?

1) If you slam the brakes on, does it skid or pulse the pedal? If abs works, then its likely a wheel speed sensor. There's not much to see as the sensor is sealed. you can only look for a severed cable going into the center of the hub (front).see this Do you have just traction control or advancetrac?

3, Window regulator

Thanks!

I don't think it'd be unplugged, and have no idea how to find it. Maybe the sensor is bad? I tried cleaning the red bubble off in case it wasn't seeing right.. but nothing changed.

It skids... for sure. I totally locked them up a week ago smoke and all to avoid someone. I think its just traction control... will have to look. I've only had the car 7 years... lol

just got my sensor replaced on my 02 ls. abs light, emergency brake light, and advancetrac lights were all on

Wheel sensor? I'm sure that is what my problem is, I just have no earthly idea how to determine WHICH one is bad. My ABS and Traction Control lights are always on and it says "check traction control" in the info center.

Most likely one of your front ones. You can either change out the sensor or change out the whole hub assembly. I opted to change out the assemblies on both sides for 140. Some of these hubs can be easy to change out like mine was or they can be fused to the aluminum. Then they need to be either hit with a hammer or reverse bolted off.

mine was the front left sensor. unfortunately mine wasnt easy to change out like rwurst918's, it was seized to the hub. got it fixed at my local ford dealer. about 300 bucks for parts and labor so i hope for your sake it is not seized to the hub. i didnt know which sensor it was either until i had it checked by a mechanic.

Plug a scanner that can readabs codes in to the car and research the code(s) it gives you

Some ob2 scan tools can also read abs codes. Idk the name of the one I used but its handheld, blue with a small rectangle screen, and pulls abs codes, but doesn't give u much detail about the abs code. I had to use mitchell on demand to get a defintion of mine, but I'm sure u can google codes also

Changed out the window regulator, only took 5 mins once we got the door panel off and go started.. OK, maybe 10 mins. $94 from Advance Auto got it done.

Hoping to work on the other problems this coming week.

Thanks for the advice.

Got my new tires on, and my A/C fixed! Also, got my ABS scanned and its the DS Rear wheel sensor that is bad. Anyone know where I should get one? Searched but didn't find anything really...

Now, need a new door handle for the passenger front and she'll be good as new.
