Figured since I'm almost part of the family now I don't feel bad posting random ebay finds. Did a quick search and didn't find anything about this car:

Gotta say, they at least put some effort into it... certainly took advantage of every inch of the body they could. Kinda tacky, but as a tribute, I guess it works. On the other hand, those are probably the most awful looking wheels I have ever seen and the seat covers are nearly as bad... haha.

I need that appraisers number.... $37K, Wow!

Love the thought behind it, but not my cup of tea.

all that money he put into paint and wheels and the windshield wipers are worn off, and those cheap seat covers, i wonder how bad the seats are

Have to appreciate the dedication. And it's not ruined or anything to where you can't change it.

That just took a lot of money to get it done.

It belongs to an ol' man. He's been trying to sell it for about a year now. Someone else posted that car a long time ago here. I think the tribute is beautiful, just not the right car, maybe its the wheels & those seat covers that throw me off!

Mark VIIIs are also susceptible to cornball 9/11 "tributes"?
Is nothing sacred?

Nah... doesn't work ... tribute is good for somethings ... billboards, monuments in parks, but car looks tacky ... I suppose I'll get bashed for not being patriotic ...

Actually I being a disabled veteran and a proud to have served soldier for many yrs and wish I still could serve, think that it is a overkill tacky attempt to tribute a memory.

The car in my view may of had a good intention in mind, but the way they went about it is half a** in my opinion. I tribute vehicle and in this instance a Mark VIII is half a**ed in the interior in contrast to exterior, and the painting has too much on the space used.

I tend to think that this being represented as a tribute car is in my eyes is a attempt to make money on the tribute concept on a memory we all will never forget. Anyone that is attempting to make a valiant effort to paint something like this has to realize that money spent is not reimbursable. But to try and capture the memories of this and expect to cash out because of it is wrong.

+10000!

Actually it's a Mark III according to the EBAY add so that was a hell of a lot of body work to make it look like a Mark VIII!

Could have spent that money in a much better way to honor the event the people and there actions. like some others said the only think I like are the tail lights.

There is a guy that comes to the Somerville Friday night cruises with a Newer Vette all done up like that. Sept he puts mirrors underneath it to show off all the stuff done under the car too :shifty:
