Valentine Stealth unit in cluster

The case for the remote display is about an inch and a half, but the front display with circuit board is only a quater of an inch thick. I didn't take picture of it with out the back casing I did have to make a hole for the phone jack to connect to it though. Maybe andrizzle can take a picture of his, you just take 2 screws off and pull apart.

Aye, I'm aware of the case size, had one a long time ago, but never had the need to take it apart.

I was pondering something similar on my F450, but then I woke up and realized that I'm probably not going to get any speeding tickets at the excessive speeds of 65mph in the 75mph zones I travel through. :lol:

I asked what size the electronics were just so I can file the info in my useless crap to know folder.

Yeah but I haven't because they would work. I actually install and wired one of them when I first got them, but took it down due to the delays
I left it there to get use to less visibility with it on when the turbo goes in. I feel it's kind of dangerous, so I might have to make my own to get a good angle on them to not take away too much visibility.

Well if you look closely, the top of it has black silicone where I cut too high.I had to fill this with silicone because I didn't cut it the right size, some light would pass through it. It bugs me so I will do it again a little later, but it will do for now.

The clear cover is attached to the guage's "surround", so there was no way of cutting on the gauge over lay while the already cut gauge surround was laying on it for a precise cut. If I were to have cut the clear cover off, I would have been able to trace the hole I cut on the surround, on to the gauge overlay to get an exact size and the right placement. I had to try cutting little by little to see how it fit and ended up going a little too far.

Probably confusing though, I've been told I'm not good at explaining things

i wonder how it would look with a very light layer of tint over the main clear plastic for the cluster, i think it would look more like the virtual cluster in the late conti's. but then you would have to find a way to make the cluster stay lit all of the time (they wont light up during the day even if the lights are set to manual, unless the daylight sensor thinks that it is dark enough for them to turn on)

Mine light during the day with the lights on manual. Please note that the dash backlighting is weak. You have to look really closely or cover a part of the dash to see it, but it is on. You can tell easier by looking at the vacuum florescent displays, because they dim down to the dimmer setting when the dash lights come on.
I can verify that both my 04 and 06 operate this way. I wish that it did work the way you describe. (This compass display in the mirror is independent and sets brightness according to the interior light level. I wish it controlled the rest of the dash lighting this way.)
