High & Low Beams

recently i just smoked my headlights on my 01 lincoln ls
lows beams are kinda hard to see, high beams arnt any better
how can irun both of them?

well i would run a relay to deliver power to the low beams triggered off of the high beams

upgrade the wattage of the 9005/9006 bulbs - but upgrade the connectors as well.

yea i'm sure there is no reason that doubling the amperage traveling through the wire would be a bad ideal

its not like they dont use wire that is twice as thick as it needs to be when building cars.

just keep pulling back on the stalk for the blinkers, doesn't it turn on both sets of lights when you do this in a first gen?

well the problem with having you high beams and low beams on at the same time is that its not going to help at all. This is why, if you turn on a high beam which is brighter as well (as it doesnt have the ceramic coating or what ever its made of) the low beams wont even show.

If you want to find out do this, get two flashlights one decently brighter than the other turn the bright one on aimed at a wall and the aim the dimmer one at the wall and turn it on, it wont make much of any difference it the brightness.

well there is a slight difference between the two, as there are not two identical light just one brighter than the other, there are differences in the reflectors which changes of the light is dispersed (which is why you have two different light settings, the lows are designed no to shine in to drivers eyes, where the highs are designed to shine everywhere)

I realize this as well, but haveing the lows and highs on at the same time wont make it any brighter, it will just fill in the area the other doesnt show in. Basically it will look like the highs are also shining right in front of the car as well as farther away, it wont be any brighter.

he will need either a brighter set of bulbs or clear lenses.

Actually, this is for HID's. But you could just modify the diagram to use stock highs/lows.
