A: I have a 01 LS that has some moisture in the headlights. Now I do have the grey sealant but I would rather not take the all the way apart. Does anyone know of a way to get the moisture out without pulling them apart? I would assume if there is then I could just use another sealant and go back over the seal to make sure I don't get anymore moisture in them

B: if I DO have to take them apart, has anyone done a how to to do this? I just need to know what temp, how long, etc, etc, so I don't screw them up.

You could drill a small hole and let the moisture dry out then seal the hole back up.
 
Or you could take the bulbs out of them and park in the sun...
Lol.

Take em outta the car and put them on your heat vent overnight or something, then do not add moisture before reinstalling.
 
Or just use a blow dryer, pointed into the bulb holes to dry it out then find the leak and seal it up with silicone to prevent it from happening again

lol. Yeah my blow dryer is really bad for the environment, what with its jet fuel engine. (Its a pretty powerful Blowdryer) :rolleyes:
 
If you want to fix the problem for good it will mean taking the headlights off the car. No if ands or butts. They are very easy to remove from car. I resealed mine 2 years ago and have never had water in them ever again. I did the whole bake and split and remove the yellow lens thing. When putting back together i just used a nice coat of ultra black slicone on the parting line. Now you don't have to do the split but you have to coat the whole headlight parting line. You cannot really tell for sure where water is coming in so cover whole headlight. As stated hairdryer in bulb holes to dry then seal up, let dry and install. I wet sanded and polished the lenses too and they look brand new again.

sometimes i overthink things too much...lol.

forgot you could just take the bulbs out.
 
Ok so I am going to ressurect this thread. I need to know how to go about taking the headlight apart. What temp in the oven, how long, everything. I want to get all the moisture, spots, etc out from the inside and reseal so I can put in my HIDs .

250 degrees, 6-10 minutes, pull them out and pry on the lens.
 
this happened to me back in 2009, it was an expensive fix.. i removed the headlights out completely. then i get my friend to drive me downtown and purchase two hookers. i paid them 200 dollars each. i drove them back and had them suck up the moisture for about an hour. i removed the bulbs of coarse as well as the whole assembly. after that i had to drop them off. so with gas spent driving to pick up the hookers and dropping them off and paying them 200 each, all together it came up to 415 dollars. im not to sure how much hookers cost in your area , so it might be more or less expensive for you

Obviously, only follow the instructions on taking the light apart and reassembling, since you are not installing angel eyes.
