Scenario or what if ?

that cap is not critical to holding air. i lost one of mine months ago and the front hasn't leaked down yet.

I am coming to that conclusion. I just could not figure out the purpose of that cap at first until you all chimed in. I was thinking it was like a check valve that would close off the air port and open up when inflating.

Crap, my bad. I just looked at my other spares and see I was looking at rear ones. Never looked at them and didnt realize they were different. When I pulled them they just went in the spare parts basket.

Well I replaced all the o-rings on all 4 solenoids, over night no luck, still front deflated. I just got done doing a KOEO self test with my Accutron code finder and it went thru all the tests, sensors, struts, and solenoids. After all tests were done, no codes present. Pretty cool test procedure though, neat to watch the car lower and raise and check the check valves and such.

Well then, your bags are leaking. They have cracks.

Heres a need to know question.

Since the front has a sensor for each bag, if one bag is bad and starts to deflate slowly, will the opposite side start to deflate to compensate for the leveling issue? Or will both bags have to be bad for both to deflate at the same time? Because if the opposite side is deflating to compensate, then I need to figure out which one is bad then.

One other thing to mention. Every night it would deflate, now that I just did the KOEO test, the compressor is now kicking on to raise it when it is starting to lower. I was reading a thread in my office and my office is in front of the garage interior wall. I heard the compressor kicking on, I ran out there and it is raising the vehicle. The compressor never kicked on after the car was off before this test. I just figured it was a different setup than that of my previous Continentals. On my past Continentals, they did kick on during the night and raise the car slightly, and thought this would do the same, but never did, until now after the KOEO test. What is up with that?

no. they wont. if one side leaks, the whole car comes down pretty even because of sway bars and things.
if its really bad you can reach up under the car and one will be all flabby.

the car does have control of the air ride for up to an hour or so.
so after sitting for while, its not unheard of for the car to adjust itself up or down within that time period.

now, why it does it now and not earlier? well, it may be leaking quicker now and and moving out of range before the time limit is up.

Well this is a f/u on the front dropping over night, every night for the past several weeks. As I mentioned in my earlier posts a couple days ago, I had replaced the o-rings in all solenoids and did a KOEO test on the air ride. It has been 2 whole days now and it has not dropped at all. And the compressor kicks on as normal after the car is parked to go to parked height and does not come on as often as before. Secondly it does not take as long to level out at start up and when coming to a stop light, it does not air up every time.

It seems to me that when I did the KOEO test a few times, that when it checked the solenoids and you hear the solenoids popping open and close, that this may have been the issue and then again it may not of been. I am thinking that possible that one or more check valves may have been partially open at all times. I know it was not the o-rings that fixed it because i replaced those the night before i did the KOEO test, and it still dropped over night. Now it maybe a fluke or coincidence. But either way, it has not dropped at all and the compressor is working normal now.

4 days and no bags deflating. :D

Glad you got it fixed.

The air ride on these cars can be a total pain.

I think I might have a stuck check valve also.
Sometimes when I close the door, the car will set its height, but it never stops in the rear.
You can hear it blow all the air out of the bag.

Now its started doing it when it lowers at 60 MPH.
