I have found a 98 tranny out of a 98 Mustang Gt with and 4.6 in it with 124,000 miles on it for $100 and wanted to verify the part number. The part number is RF-F3LP-7A0. Can some let me know if this tranny bold pattern will fit my 95 Mark VIII LSC. Thank you,

Seth

Mine came from a 98 Mark. Different, IDK. I think this is a pic of the 98. If not, this is a 93 and I apologize.

i see F8 on that tag. so yeah, thats a 98.

I thought it was but I took so many different pics and never paid attention to the tags. I just know that it did in fact come from a 98 Mark and it was stamped on the top of the trans "98"

I just didn't want to give a wrong picture to someone and say it was something that it wasn't but I was pretty sure that it was the 98 before I cleaned it up. The car it came from was leaking oil supposedly but only had 68K on it. He took the engine and sold me that trans.

Also, if you look at the top of the case it will have the year STAMPED into the case itsself. it should read the year of manufacture.

If I get a pic of my new Trans I'll post it tonight when I get home.

Its snowing now, I have to switch to my studded snows tonight anyway.
Enjoy.. counting down to Tuesday.. my 98 goes in! Just hope to make the 1.5 hours trip to him!!! lol

The price is right!!LOL but looks like I am going to have to have them get the number off the top of the tranny? All I know is that this is out of a Mustang right now. I will have the seller look at the top of the tranny and then post the number here.

Ask them if its from a 4.6ltr Mustang, and then makesure its stamped with 98 or newer on the trans case its self, as the tag can be switched, if the stamp is 98 then you know atleast the case was made no earlier then 98... you should be in luck.

If the mustang was a 5.0, the trans I dont think will work the bell housing is different..
Also something to look for is the Starter location, if there is 3 bolt holes then it will work, if there is only 2 then its for the 302 motor, wont bolt up.

This is as much as I can safely tell you.. if there is another model out there for the 6 that may also be different. these are the items I have been told to look for the starter thing is the quick way to tell if it will even bolt to your motor.

Good Luck.

You also have a re-wire instore for you....
you have to remove the harness from yours as you will need to swap out the solenoids from your 95 as it was the lower resistance rating on them and you cant get away with re-pin.

If you need the diagrams, let me know. people have sent me and through my own research found everything you will need to do the job..
PM if needed.

I will let you know when I am ready for it. I hope that yours goes well. I am still struggling with these part numbers for these trannys that I am looking to buy. The one out of the Mustang GT has the most miles and the other I am lookin at might be out of a 97. I read that on the top of the tranny is the production year and on NO Limit he had an F8 tag on his. I am real close now but I don't want to mess it up buy buying the wrong one.
